Ani_BEE: How EXACTLY did you do your skirt? I really love the way your skirt looks in this picture, and I want mine to look just like that. You're the only person I've seen who's been able to get those big pleats like she has in the anime! Please share your secrets!

iSeika: If you're cosplaying for fun, I'd say do it. You like it, and you'll be happier and like your costume more with it. But if you're going to be entering contests, I would make a different, anime-accurate bow for that, since I think the judges would take points off for it.

Does anyone have any experience with these rings? I was wondering what size they are and if it was possible to use them for cosplay..

You could probably email the company and ask them. But this ebay seller says the ring is a size 8.

I purchased one of these ring sets off ebay. It fits on my ring finger perfectly, which I think is a US ring size 6.

Anyone know of a site or ebay seller that also sells those rings, but bigger? I will be crossplaying Kyoko and I need a ring and don't wanna make it, but that one Zara just said fits, will def not fit me. If not, anyone have any tutorials on making one?

^ Cospa sells rings for each of the 5 main girls in sizes from Japanese 7 all the way up to Japanese 25. Japanese 13 fits around my thumb, for reference.

EDIT: Cospa is the officially licensed brand. The rings are 12,600 yen apiece, tax included.

Yeah, there's no way I would pay that much for that either. I've tried looking for tutorials, but I can't seem to find any. People just seem to get some clay and go at it. I would just try to find a commissioner if I were you.

I'm thinking of something that was posted in the props forum. Someone asked about making one and there was some good advice. I think I can do what they were saying.

Fabulousity, You think clay would work good enough? I have some crayola air dry stuff. Guess I could try that..

I've seen people do it with Fimo before, but I haven't heard of using the air-dry stuff. The air dry stuff seems to be a little brittle when you make thin pieces, so I'm not sure how well a ring would hold up. I used the Crayola air dry clay for my Agitha necklace, and while the thick, green beetles are hard as rocks and can survive several falls (don't ask how I know that....), the thin edges of the red beetle pendent don't seem very sturdy, in my opinion. But if you've already got the clay, I guess there's no harm in making a plain ring just to test it out.

Yea I totally didn't think about that..I actually made a part of a cosplay (small part but whatever). It's a small disk about 2" wide and I only made it a good 1/4" thick, I wanted to test the strength and it basically snapped with almost no force..I completely forgot about that till I read your post haha

What's "fimo" though? I mean, I probably know, but I just haven't heard that word..Is that a brand?

Jason: Fimo is a polymer, ove-bake clay, just like Sculpey. This person made their ring using that, and it looks pretty good! You could ask and see if they take commissions if you don't think you're up to sculpting something so small.

Ilafatyu: Thanks for the tutorial! Do you think Ani_BEE just gathered the skirt like that, or do you think she pleated it? I thought it looked too uniform to be gathered, but maybe I'm wrong.
