Question Help with Tharja (Fire Emblem Awakening)?

Let me just say that I've never made my own cosplay before. I've made bits and pieces with the help of my dad but this'll be the first time I'm attempting to make an entire cosplay myself. Tharja seems like a simple enough character for a first project but I'm actually quite stuck...

Does anyone have recommendations on how to make the gold portions of Tharja's outfit? I'd need all the gold pieces to be the same shade so I'm a little unsure what materials to use. My main issue is her headpiece, her necklace, and the gold "belt" she has. I honestly have no idea what materials to use so help would be much appreciated. Any additional help like how to even construct that huge clunky necklace would be amazing as well.

Lastly... Any suggestions as to what I should do about the sheer black portion of her outfit? I was considering using a body stocking but they all have an ugly seam running down the middle front.

Thank you!

Look to different sources for the body stocking, I've seen plenty with no seam in the center.

I'd make the collar (necklace) out of heavily stiffened fabric, it even has lines where the seams would be. That isn't the easiest thing to bodge together, it'll take a paper model and a trial run in scrap fabric first but it is possible if you are willing to spend the time on it. i'd design an overlap in the back and have it close with velcro.

the belt and other pieces I'd probably quilt (no, not granny style quilting, simply the technique), mostly just so the exact same fabric could be used on all the gold bits. most gold fabrics you find will be very thin and light weight, quilting them will dramatically change the appearance. Done really well you can fool the viewer into thinking it's a rigid structure.

I've already searched eBay and Amazon to no avail. I'm not quite sure where else to look for a seamless sheer body stocking. :/

I'll definitely try that with the necklace. Thank you so much! I know this is kind of a silly question but what exactly do you mean by quilting the belt pieces together? I have no experience with sewing and I'm not quite sure which technique you're referring to since I'm finding quite a few. I really appreciate the help thus far though! (:

I can't get here every day, sorry.

Quilting is a technique where two layers of fabric are sewn together with batting (stuffing) of some sort in between. It isn't terribly had and can easily be done by hand.

animenerd93 :: Dance wear! I've looked it up and it seems like a wonderful alternative. Sadly, I can't find anything in a sheer black but I may just go with it regardless. Thank you so much! (:

Penlowe :: No need to apologize. You've been a great help so far. Thanks so much for clarifying regarding quilting technique! I'll definitely give that a try.
