@Trooper715 - Wicked. You're a really good cosplayer! Looks like you do some of this as a profession. I didn't know the balaclava for the uniform was something you had to look for. Then again it looks really accurate it must be another piece of Russian military gear. Impressive. Thank you for offering some help for my future cosplays!

I'm ordering a Soviet Tanker Helmet and an RD - 54. It sounds like this particular cosplay will be more challenging than I thought if that specific camo is hard to come by. Well see what happens. I just absolutely love the Tanker Helmet though. In some scenes of MGS2 one soldier was using a Sphera helmet though. Those are like helmets from Space Balls lol.

This is the website that I bought it from but they are sold out and I have no idea if/when they will ever restock it.
"Russian Naval Infantry/Para brown woodland pattern camouflage sets."

The set I have should be a medium-reg if you end up wanting to borrow it.

Is your RD-54 canvas or nylon? The nylon ones seem better at holding the 'square' shape from the game.

Sphera helmets are super hard to come by! But those look awesome. =3 I'm not 100% sure if that was the one they are wearing though. It looks like it's a little different. More like the FSB helmets. Try this site:

http://www.helmetreplicas.net/default.asp

I don't even think the two-hole balclava is russian military gear It's a piece of equipment that honestly isn't too useful for military purposes. The one I was wearing was from a racing store. It was too small for me though. Be careful about buying one that's just a one-hole balclava sewn shut in the middle. A lot of the 'two hole' ones are simply that. Look carefully for one that actually has individual holes sewn for both eyes.

One annoying thing about the tanker helmet is....it's designed to muffle sound. So you're going to have fun trying to hear people. =P

Oh yes. And don't forget the Telnyashka undershirt! Very important for completion. =3

======

And yeah, I quit my job to work on this full time. I have a film gig which is priority but it's paying for materials/construction costs only until the pilot is picked up, so if anyone has any commissions, I'd definitely appreciate it! =D

@Trooper715 - Thanks for all the references, I've only started learning about the gear as I was looking up the cosplay. Also going to use some of this for airsoft (probably a bad idea).

Would you be up for a few commissions for a Izanagi cosplay? Just curious. Your work looks really good.

@Trooper715 - Oh also, I appreciate the offer on borrowing that camo but I don't know if I could fit it being 5'9" xD. I'd feel horrible if I ruined it!

I hadn't ordered my RD-54 yet, and almost forgot about the Telnyashka undershirt. Thanks for the info!

5'11" is the perfect size! It's the same size as me. You can borrow it for cons and such if you want. I'm sure you can take care of it. ^_^

And you can totally airsoft in it. I used to. =3 The brown woodland camo is actually very nice, though it's so rare now I'm worried about messing it up (plus I don't airsoft much if at all anyways). You don't have much load bearing capacity though, so if you don't play with hi caps you're going to have fun topping off constantly.

And totally down for an Izanagi commission. Loves me some persona. =D

I'm going to Fanime this year as my X SnJ Kakashi. Also I was wondering if there were any martial arts practitioners around that I could do some battle cosplay photoshoots with? I live really close to Fanime so I thought I'd check around.

I'm cosplaying as Tobirama Senju eventually. What sort of photo shoots did you have in mind that involves a martial art practitioner (I've background in mixed martial arts).

I've done Taekwondo (still do), along with a little bit of gymnastics. I'm trying to get into doing stunt/trick kicks. I know a little bit of escrima. I'm not a beginner per se though.
Soon, I'll be enrolling in some Wing Chun and Capoeria or breakdancing classes. Overall, I'd like to do a short cosplay action styled video, down the road ,with what I learn hopefully, so I thought I'd look around on here for other cosplayers/martial artists that wouldn't mind teaming up with me in future at conventions.
