Do you know how to sew? Would you be okay with a commercial pattern?

My friend just got a cheap Halloween costume Iron Man mask and spray painted it red. It turned out pretty decent. My other friend made a Damian costume and she literally just got a red shirt and cut and sewed it to look like the tunic.

I've seen people build out Iron Man masks with bondo for Red Hood, but depending on the art you're basing it off of, I think that might be counter productive. The MCU Iron Man build has a really specific jaw shape that you'd have to build away from pretty significantly for Red Hood. The closest thing in shape to the original Under the Hood are stuff, and the way its drawn in Lost Days, to me, is probably a balloon, which you can buy, blow up to size, and then papier mache around. From there I'd take fiberglass resin and paint it on in thin layers, sanding as you go to keep the glossy texture.

As for Damian, it really depends on your sewing skills. His shirt is a pretty basic, fitted, princess-seam set up. I would probably use a stretch twill or something similar to get that heavy sort of look, and just scour JoAnn's or another fabric store for a commercial pattern you can edit for it.

Good luck!

Hey, I'm working on a Red Hood Helmet myself. Here is a couple links on how to make one. It's been pretty helpful so far.

Nice work on your hood Kamina!

I'm going to start working on my own Red Hood helmet today. I'll post the finished product for you all to see. I plan on actually molding mine so wish me luck.

thanks a bunch! my friend has been pullin his hair out trying to find a decent red hood helmet. we're just starting to get into cosplay and we're now making our own stuff. I took an autobody class in highschool and never thought to use bondo for a costume. Thanks again! can't wait to experiment (no homo)
