Advice on Darius Cosplay

Hello there, i am brand new to cosplaying and really want to be able to go to Pax Prime as Darius from League of Legends. I would do Draven but my brother is going as him. I have some idea on what im doing but i just need to see if this seems right. I plan on doing two things.

First: Take light wires and form the shape of his armor and then put Papier-mâché over it and form the overall appearance of him.

Second: If that doesnt work, I plan on taking foam finding out a way to form the shapes of the armor.

His weapon i plan on making out of PCP pipes or wood and covering it in papier-mache and foam. Please help this noob in learning how to create awesome cosplays!

That's actually a pretty solid way to make this cosplay.

What exactly are you having trouble figuring out?

Feel free to PM me if you see something I've made that you think might relate to the techniques you are trying to do.

when is PAX?
I was just commissioned to make darius' axe for a costumer. It will be done professionally and in the case of shipping to far off lands I can incorporate a design to have it detachable so you can reassemble it when it arrives in the mail. It will be quite costly in terms of the process you have proposed for your construction. if you are interested pm me back for more details.
