Dwarf beards

The costume is just an inkling in the back of my mind right now, but I imagine more people will be wanting to know about this because of Thorin & co. and for that matter Gandalf.

Do any of the cosplay wig places make decent looking beards? I don't mean little goatees and things, I mean big full luxurious beards.

Or is this something where you'd really want to try constructing your own? I'm noticing all these tutorials for making wefts from existing wig hair, either getting an extra wig in the same colour or getting a too-long wig and cutting the excess length off to make the wefts. Would those work for making a hair-matching beard as well as they do for making a matching ponytail?
