Post Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag - Edward Kenway Cosplay Resources

With the recent release of information on Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, I thought I'd start a thread where we can gather information on Edward Kenway's outfit.

I'll start with a detailed look at the front of his outfit.

Update - Ubisoft posted reference pics for us cosplayers on Facebook so I'll link that. Feel free to discuss what you think his outfit is made of.

Here's a link to the Assassin's Creed trailer (released yesterday)

@Kame - That high res is awesome. Love the texture of that aged blue fabric that fades to grey!

Sorry, but I need to fangirl here for a moment:
I am soooo happy that he's a blonde! All the other assassins have been raven-haired! I'm also really digging on how they finally made the clothing look super worn and scuffed up. All those pauldrons don't take swords without any problems!

I'm most interested in this installment as well...I've not wanted to do an Assassin costume till now...

Cause now I can put my Jack Sparrow wig on under the hood and swagger about...and it would still kinda work. >

Not a not of interest yet? I was expecting more replies. Personally I like his outfit way more than connor's. I have been starting at the trailers and concept arts for a while, and I have no idea how all the pieces fit together >_<

I'm really pumped to start creating this costume. Seems quite a bit easier in the sewing department than Connors. The thing I can't figure out is how to upper arm bracers (?) is attached. To the shirt? To the fabric vest or the leather vest? Also the blue flowy fabric, is that connected to the fabric vest or is it like a seperate piece? All these questions...

Is there anyone else who thinks the concept art differs quite a bit from the trailers? I'm thinking mainly of the back and the leather vest. I haven't been able to find a high-res image of the back from the trailer yet..

yeah, it probably makes the most sense for the arm piece to attach to the leather vest. In the concept art (front), the entire arm piece is one item, going from the shoulder to hand...

I can't figure out how the back of the vest work. it looks so different in all the images! I can't tell if the leather vest also contain fabric parts (visible on the back of the vest)

This picture: http://images.wikia.com/assassinscre...ame_3_ACIV.jpg shows the back pretty well. Also the back of the arms. But I still think I'll wait to see actual gameplay before I start sewing and stuff.

Thanks. haven't seen the high-res photo of that image before. Once again the concept art differ from the game model. I think in the concept art there's a triangular blue patch between the hood and vest, but there's none here. I wonder how early these screenshots were taken. Probably best to wait and see for now.

I have Started on mine and am almost finished. For the pants are just some simple brown trousers. I am Layering the top with 3 shirts, If you zoom in on the first picture you can see what I am talking about (Ignore the Leather arm part i am still figuring that out myself).

First is a White dress shirt with wider arms as well as the big cuffs, I am adding the longer hanging parts to this article of clothing.

Next is the vest. and for the leather coat I managed to get some nice leather (FOR FREE) that i made a custom pattern (which was thrown out D and am currently dyeing to proper colour.

I am not adding the hood to these bits because if you zoom in on the hood it is actually its own part that drapes over the leather and is held down by the leather straps.

Hope this helps

P.S. Rather new to this forum type stuff so i am sorry if I am Necroing this post. :?

There's nothing out for 4 yet online. You'd have to make Edward's from scratch at this point.
