Hey there! We got the TTC2 for the Saturday shoot and it is the biggest area, so we'll definitely have lots of space. For the Friday and Saturday shoot (DT3), it was the only area we could get for two hours.

To answer the question of security, yes it is a concern. I don't think it's anything to do with a photoshoot in particular, it's the fandom. The Homestuck fandom is usually portrayed in a very bad light and we wanted to make sure that EVERYONE would be safe, from both physical and verbal attacks. Since we are such a big fandom, the people running this shoot can't always have their eyes and ears everywhere to look out for things so we decided to request someone to come over and keep an eye out for anything. Also, there were a few people who might come over and try to cause trouble. Better safe than sorry in my opinion!

They make me sad too. I think fandom wars are pretty silly and immature.

That being said, I just don't want anything happening to our little group, so we prepared for the worst.

Um, I'm planning on a god-tier!Terezi cosplay again, hopefully better this time. I'm having some difficulties with figuring out the horns, because last year's idea didn't work too well; how is anyone else making/attaching them?

my method, though i no longer do homestuck, is to have a headband under the wig with screws and prepare the horns to fit onto the screws.

I second this, it's a very sturdy method and you don't really have to worry about your horns going anywhere.

I'm not going to be using a wig, although I might use some temporary hair dye, and I'm also wearing the god-tier hood. Is there a way to work the hood and the headband together without it being incredibly awkward? Like, having to shove the horns though holes to get the hood on is awkward, and having to put on the headband under the hood (because it's attached) is awkward. I had a vague thought about using magnets, but I have no idea how -- or IF -- it would work.

I'm not sure that magnets would work at all. It wouldn't have the structural support of the headband. If you attached the horns to the hood, the hood would be weighed down a lot and look weird. The hoods for the trolls (See here) are designed so that you have to unbutton it to get the hood off.

If you plan on keeping the hood on all the time, have you thought about making fabric horns and sewing them right onto the hood? That way it would be light enough for the fabric and you wouldn't have to worry about a headband. Personally, I'd stick with the headband.

Ok, so I'll be at the Friday shoot for sure, not too sure about Sunday. It's a pain to put on all that grey face paint and then find somewhere to wash it off after the con shuts down at the end of the weekend. Still thinking about it.

There is a large washroom in the DoubleTree off where the tables etc are.

Oddly enough, in the ten years I've been going to Anime North, I've never been in the public bathrooms in the Doubletree. :P

I made my friend a Mituna costume, she'll probably be showcasing it the whole weekend~ I'll be going with the photoshoot(s?) with her, though I'm not in homestuck cosplay. Photographer whoo! I'll see you all there.
