Making Black Canary's "Suit"

Okay, so I am wanting to do a cosplay of Black Canary. The only little problem I am having is how to go about making her body/leotard suit. I am fairly new to cosplaying and am somewhat experienced in sewing. (I just have never used lining or made a corset)

My problem is I am not sure what to call her suit or what kind of pattern to look for to make it. Would you consider what she is wearing a typical "bunny suit"? Or would it be some kind of leotard? I had assumed it was a bunny suit so was going to draft my own pattern using the duct tape method but when reading some tutorials on how to put it together such as rufflebutts It specifically states to NOT use stretch fabric. And i was going to use 4 way stretch vinyl to give it that shiny look.

Am I going about this the wrong way, is there a different pattern for the super hero style bodice? or is it just a fancy bunny suit? Or can you get vinyl in non-stretch?

Thanks in advance!
