Subway Boss Sideburns

So my friend and I crafted some killer sideburns for Ingo and Emmet cosplays (stiff felt cut out & wefts glued on). They look great, EXCEPT that the sideburns don't stay close to the face, and seem to stick further outward at an angle as more time passes. Currently there is nothing they are attached to and are currently held in place by the tightness of our wigs and wig caps (makes them conveniently detachable for goofing around purposes).

I'm having trouble trying to come up with a good way to keep the sideburns as close against the face as possible. I was ~thinking~ of using velcro dots, stick them on the insides of the burns then on our cheeks, but I'm not sure how visible they would be and whether it would just yank hair off the sideburns (the outer hairs are kinda loose).

Any suggestions?

Don't use the Velcro as the glue might chemical burn your skin. >_<

I would glue them down with Spirit Gum.

Now that's a thought, but I'm concerned that the gum would tug at the outer hairs instead of the whole sideburn itself and cause a big mess... not to mention getting it off would be tough without wrecking it.
