Depends, but not usually. I've heard that u can heat it up over a stove top but u need to b careful cause it can get too hot. Look up some tutorials about craft foam molding and try will show a little more. I believe million knives has a tutorial around here too.... I'm mobile so I can't link sorry

It doesn't take a whole a lot of head to form it, you just need to get it pliable. You can also use the heat of a stove top if you're careful.

Also, you can pick up a heat gun for like $25 at home depot
