Do people build boxes at the luggage dimension limit and take it on their flight or do you ship it down to your hotel before hand?
Although my costume wasn't full armor, I did have bulky shoulders and helm. I used two large rubbermaid container and packed it the pieces with bubble wrap, etc. I did have to pay extra for each piece of luggage, but you do what you gotta do =/ My staff came apart in two pieces and I took this as a carry-on, wrapped in bubble wrap as well. I babied the thing and was paranoid about it in the overhead, but it worked out okay I just got weird questions going through customs!

I just started some work with the Creative brand paperclay as well; my Michael's had a ton of it on the shelf. It is about the size of a brick, if a brick was only about an inch thick, for $9.99. I got a 40% off Michaels coupon online to print, so I'd recommend doing that if you go that route.
There are some recipes online for making your own paperclay, but from what I've gathered, those can be a nightmare to sand.

If you have a smart phone, get the Michaels app and you'll always have a 40% off coupon with you! I never remember to bring the paper coupons.

Will be good to see everyone at Blizzcon. I'm currently thinking of doing Rosie the Riveter as a goblin, based on the following photo:

Well, Sindragosa is coming along nicely. The shoulders are sealed. Still need to get expanding foam, but pretty much everything else I need is on its way to me. Debating on if I want to just skip the elf ears, which i might. I have a piercing I'd like to show off. Oh, and I need to figure out how to do the top. Going to slim down- hopefully my Hoopnotica stuff gets here sooner than later.

How's everyone else's cosplays coming along?

Here is a new update on my Varian Wrynn costume, I've finished building the bracers from Worbla.

In the beginning, I had some difficulty with the talons. Wasn't sure how to design them and when I tried just shaping them from Worbla, the end results were rather sad looking.

Eventually I shaped some pink insulation foam into the right look, then covered that with Worbla.

Urgh. Going to have to redo my pauldrons of Might. Not happy with how the first pass is coming along. :\ But PAX is in July, stressstressstress.

Any tips on making pauldrons?

These are the already constructed ones, but I'm feeling like they're too big?
Another shot

I just made a proper harness for them to be attached to my body, so ignore the droopyness, focus on the size.

And another

@Yumiro: they look just like tassels to me. Or another alternative is painting some clear acrylic crystals. Just make sure to sand with a fine grit so the paint sticks and seal it well. Both of which you should be able to find in something like a Hobby Lobby or Michaels. If you have trouble with the tassels there does seem to be a bigger selection of tassels at something like a Hancock Fabrics.

An update on Varian Wrynn's shoulder armor; the gold has been aged and the masking removed. Next up; darker blue around the eyes, then light blue on the eyes themselves. Then a protective gloss coat.

Hey everyone, I was wondering if I could get some opinions, if I have the time I would like to make a little pet zerg to carry around with me at the con, what baby zerg should I make? Granted this is only if I have extra time. Any thoughts?

Finished my Warrior Costume for PAX AUS

its not really the best photo out there, since my photogboyfriend was exhausted by the time PAX was over, haha. But it'll have to do before a srs photoshoot occurs

Hey everybody, unfortunately, I will be missing out on Blizzcon again this year... But I still love to see the hype! It looks like you guys are all doing great, like every year. I can't wait to watch the live stream to see you all.

I would have loved to go again this year, mostly just to watch the SC2 finals, but I missed out on the ticket sales, and am super broke this year x_x

Hope to make it next time
