High cut bikini bottoms?

Alrighty so I'm trying to complete my Talim cosplay from Soul Calibur 4 for Acen next weekend. I am however having issues making her underwear/bikini thing:

http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__.../98/Talim1.jpg (best shot so far I can find of the back 8P )

I want it to be high cut like she wears in game, aka: the sides of the bottoms go up over your hip bones. I can't seem to find a pattern like that anywhere locally though, and I'm running out of time/funds so ordering online is no longer an option ):

I already tried making it once and screwed it all kinds of up. I think I have a better idea of the pattern though, so I sketched this up:

I'm just wondering three things: first, is this a decent pattern to go off of for that style? Second, would I need to add thin elastic to the seams? And third, I am using a swimsuit type material, very stretchy. Is this something I would need to measure myself then make the pattern slightly smaller to allow for stretching?

Any and all help appreciated, thank you!

You'd want to use elastic thread or a stretch stitch so that the seams can stretch along with the fabric.
The pattern seems reasonable. What I've found, when I've made cheer pants or boyshorts, is that I need to add more fabric than I think to the back rise, so it actually goes all the way up over my butt. I'd suggest comparing your pattern to a pair of panties that fit you. What are the measurements of the underwear on your body versus the unstretched fabric? You can use that as a bit of a guide.
Personally I'd either make a test pair from your stretchy fabric, planning on doing a second version, or make them too big on purpose and size them down when you're wearing them. It depends on how much fabric you have and what sounds easier to you.

I remember the style being popular in then 80'd and then it dawned on me that female bodybuilder still use V shaped bottom bikini's (FIGURE SUITS). If you have a store of supplement seller near you they might know where to buy a white one as an option.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! Unfortunately I don't have the time or extra fabric to make a test pair, but I will take your advice and measure lots and hopefully cut once and not cry XD

Also THANK YOU ANI_BEE FOR THAT SUGGESTION I couldn't really find any reference pictures for that type of bikini and it took me forever to find out what it was even called. I searched "figure suit" on Google and found TONS of images! Very helpful X3 Thank you both again XD

I think that that style of cut is also called a "french cut" swimsuit!
