Best way to achieve this...

Hey Guys So I wanted to cosplay this character and I wanted to know what the best way to achieve this look. I was looking into chalking the purple parts of a white wig but I'm not sure how to go about doing that and if it would come out since I would be wearing a white shirt and wouldn't want the chalk to come out. Here's a picture of what i want to achieve. and could I spike it with the chalk as well? So many questions... thanks for the help in advance though.

The pic says no hotlinking so I'm guessing the thing pictured isn't the right one..

Unless that character happens to be the one you are doing..

Without a ref pic, it is hard to give specific info but I always recommend adding wefts of whatever color streak/chunk you need over trying hair chalk, color sprays, etc. Even using a sharpie to color in small streaks (if that is what your character has?) would be acceptable and effective. With either of the aforementioned methods, you know the color cannot be sweat off, brush off, wash off, or bleed off when using styling products (do a swatch test if your styling product has a lot of alcohol though if you use sharpies).

I would sharpie that if you can. It will take a while, but it's worth it in the end.

If not you can use the spray dye method. Since it's a white wig, it should dye the correct color. I would make sure it's a wig that's good with dying first though. You could easily mask off the rest from the bottom and just dye that, then spike it after. To mask it off, you could use a nice dry clean towel, that is small but covers the whole head, and cut out the sections where the purple will be, then use painters or masking tape to take it off. If the tape gets on the hair it will not ruin it like other tapes will, but it will stop the dye from getting to the rest of the hair..

I hope this isn't an inappropriate question, but I was curious as to what that character is from?

I would suggest using a sharpie marker to color the ends (either coloring it by hand or using the spray bottle method). I'm not so sure the chalk would stay properly, since it's like you're basically putting chalk on plastic. And like everyone is saying, try to do a test swatch first if you can to make sure the color will stick!

Chalk needs texture to bind to hair and synthetic wig just don't have that going for them.

The hand colour of sharpie or any permanent marker you can bleed out with alcohol to get the gradation on the hair.

The character from Karnavel which is airing right now and has 12+ volume of manga.
