COLOSSALCON?!?! Holy cow I didn't realize you were from Ohio too! Come to Matsuricon in August and you'll have a Mikasa to roll with! (You make an AWESOME Sasha btw)

I also wanted to say how sweet it is that the majority of people here seem to be females so far...who says girls can't deal with a bit of gore?

Looking good! I'm currently working on the straps and whatnot and boy is it a pain! I think I have a plan and I might post pictures if I get it worked out tonight. I need to run to the store for supplies first. I've only got a week left til Anime North so I gotta hurry! I've already got most of the 3D Gear done with the help from my buddy. Just have to modify the jacket, get the straps ready and then I'm pretty much good.

the props dont really look that though to make, but thinking about how they will be attached to myself I think will be the hard part for the props id end up using gesso, foam board, craft foam and pvc pipes

8D That would be awesome! I MIGHT be able to make it to Matsuricon just on Saturday- I'm headed to Atlanta the next weekend after that for Dragon*con and need to save my vacation time and money for that. I'll keep you posted.

I thought about watching a few eps of Titan but normally I like to wait til an anime as at least 10 eps before I start watchin (ya I know weird)
Yes. The show has a quick pace and I think if you can make it through the first five episodes, you'll be hooked.

I finally caved and put Rivaille on my list for nycc this year /)_(\

Has anyone thought about maybe figuring out a way to do suspended poses for photoshoots? It's gotta be possible, right?

I managed to get my costume done for Anime North 2013! I will be posting pictures soon. The straps were a pain and very hard to put on but the worst was the way I designed my 3D gear. It put a lot of strain on my neck so now I have a huge rash. It was worth rubbing my hips raw and having a sore neck though. Over 300 people took pictures of me.

I saw two erens, a mikasa, a sasha, and an annie at AN. Which were you?

I'd love to cosplay someone from this series (maybe Eren?), although I've got a pretty full cosplay roster for this year, so it likely won't be until next year.

300?? Wow...I feel like I would have had a panic attack lol. I seriously can't gauge it like other series yet (and I haven't been to a con this season) but is Shingeki popular to do now? It would sort of make my day to show up somewhere and have a complete group for pics and stuff.

My 3DM gear plans have been derailed for now...my glue gun is stuck at the parent's house (noooo...)

On a semi-related side note...IF you are attempting to tighten up for Summer con season, DO NOT download the opening song from SnK to your ipod during workouts...you know, unless you LIKE throwing up in front of strangers in public after sprinting a mile.

Just a suggestion...

Here's an update on how I looked: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...2&l=0a43c73c37

And @evaunit01berser, I had part of the weight of the 3d gear on my upper body straps. My upper body straps were mainly a modified backpack so it rubbed against my neck.

@A Grue, I'm not sure. You tell me. Does the picture look familiar?

I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I just would like to find a way to put the straps on easier. I'm going to keep working on it and get it perfected.

I am going to have a group for Kumoricon. I was super excited to start working on the 3DMG after Fanime then an unexpected turn of events made me go out of state for work for a week. Once I get home though....then....THEN I WILL TACKLE THAT FUN PROP!

I am also terrible at sewing so I ordered my costume. I ordered it Saturday and found out that it arrived yesterday and I am not home to see it D:

So I didn't know if this would be useful for anyone contemplating building your own 3DM gear, but I found this floating around and thought it might be worth a look: http://maxiburger.tumblr.com/post/51...-maneuver-gear

It's a compilation of tweets and images from a really awesome Japanese cosplayer named Reika (You may have seen her AMAZING Levi cosplay if you've been on Tumblr lately) that shows some of her materials and methods to making her gear. The end results are pretty awesome (and she seems to follow the same methodology as myself: wander around a hardware/craft store for a couple hours and find things to glue together )
