I was there for the entire con. As someone who is out of state and had to spend a lot of money to fly there, hotel, food, other costs, it wasn't the worst but it wasn't the best con.

Pros
*Water stations with cups are better than drinking fountains!
*Lots of awesome costumes
*Easy to get to from the airport
*Hotel staff was helpful especially with costumes that were large/bulky

Cons
*Lines and nowhere for them to go to
*No forums. Couldn't meet/make friends before the con as I went alone
*Lack of food what wasn't overpriced or the Denny's with a 2hr wait
*At a hotel? Seriously wtf? A-kon is so big it should be at a convention center it's ridiculous. Other cons of similar size and even smaller are being held at convention centers. This con was too overcrowded to be at a hotel now matter how big the hotel claims to be

Overall
Did I have fun? Yes. Was it worth the $1,000+ I had to spend to do it? Ehhh maybe. Will I do it again for next year if it's the same? No. A-Kon isn't on the same level as Sakura Con, Anime Expo, Phoenix Comic Con which are the large cons I've been to.
