Phew, I think it'll be all done in time. Just got to sew a snap on, put some more red tulle on the headdress, and figure out if I'm putting in the chiffon back-veil or not. If I am, I need to quickly hem and handsew about two feet around the square of cloth and attach it to the headdress. I have no idea what to do for makeup, though. I think I'll just pay someone to do some multicoloured face paint on me on Saturday. And then I get to spend Saturday striking ballet poses! Half the reason I made the costume was so I could dance. (The shoes are my old ballet slippers and I added plenty of flowy pieces to match... no pointe, though. I'm not THAT good.)

Ahh too much effort to make a new one. That's why I am bringing back the dark mage I had last year. And that purple is an awesome colour.

Well, that now gave me the idea to recreate an actual ballet costume with a fantasy styling... something like the firebird or one of the Wilis from Giselle (as an added bonus, we learned the Entree de Wilis in ballet class).... but good GOD tutus are a pain in the ass to make.

Not really, at least not romantic and bell tutus. Ten or eleven layers of tulle is very hot. And I hate the straight-out pancake tutus for an inexplicable reason.

(And I REALLY hope it doesn't rain! So far every con I've been to this year has been crap for weather and it's really making this year suck. But it looks like temperatures will be plenty warm- good thing my costume this year is one that's supposed to be cool.)
