Madame Red party dress

Hello everyone!
I wanna do a Madame Red cosplay. Concretely this one:
http://th04.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/...an-d48f0xk.png

The truth is that I don't know where to start. I have found more pictures from a cosplayer in Deviant Art to know how is the whole dress
http://arulithia.deviantart.com/art/...vida-209854370 it's amazing!
I have done some cosplays but none like this!
Could anyone give me some tips?

Thanks!

Well for the corset top, here is a pattern I found online: http://butterick.mccall.com/b5440-pr...hp?page_id=385

And then for the actually skirt and over-skirt, this one is pretty accurate: http://mccallpattern.mccall.com/m409...hp?page_id=493

For fabric, I would use something like taffetas or maybe costume silk. http://www.myfabrics.co.uk/ This website has a wide selection of colors for you to choose from.

Hello!
Well you have some artistic leway with this outfit!

I suggest using B5882 as a base for this outfit. Of course, lengthen the skirt to floor length.
Make a separate over skirt with the same pattern, then make the seams into channels insert twill tape or grossgrain ribbon and pull them up to desired length. You could either keep this piece separate or make the entire outfit one piece.

I agree that it should be done in a taffeta or silk, both of which are suggest fabrics for the pattern.

Hope this helps!

Whenever you see something listed with a B in front of the pattern number, it's 99% likely to be Butterick. Every now and then I see it as Burda, but Butterick is one of the really big pattern companies (along with Simplicity, McCall's, and Vogue).
