There will be a small con in Cornwall (an hour from both Montreal and Ottawa) this Saturday (August 30th) . It’s called CoTiCon which stands for Cornwall’s Tiny Convention. It’s the first time we get a con convention like this!

The website is www.coticon.com if you are interested in checking it out.

There is a facebook page too: https://www.facebook.com/CotiConvention

And if you use DeviantArt, we also have a group on there too: http://coticonvention.deviantart.com/

Please check it out! We’re going to be having panels, video screenings, workshops, a smash bros tournament, art contest and a masquerade! And, the location is really nice so if the weather is nice than cosplay photoshoots outside can happen.

If you can travel to Guelph, Genrecon is on from October 17-19th, the Anime North Halloween doujinka festival is the evening of the 24th at the Japanese-Canadian cultural centre, and likewise again if you can travel to Oshawa, Ochibacon is there in November. Then there's that one day December comicon Hobbystar does, Frostcon (1 day, downtown) is January 31st, the March Toronto comicon is about mid-March, and Ad-Astra, a literature based sci-fi con, in April. I think you just weren't looking very hard. Well over half the cons in Canada ate in Southern Ontario and there's basically a con every month in the GTA.

Already going to most, plus something the weekend before Frostcon, in Ottawa. Never heard of Genrecon, I'll check it out, thanks! I had heard that Guelph's con had ended. Ad Astra doesn't seem to really have any anime content, but they might have some fanfics.

Hobbystar is the devil, so I avoid them. They take your registration fee and then lock you outside. I'm not lying.

What I meant was, we should have more cons though... my friend in California says there's a convention almost every second weekend. We had a few more in Toronto but they closed down...

Con-G closed down, but Genrecon's been going for a while. Not affiliated with each other.
And yeah, I loathe them too (I'm ONLY going to the cons to sell in the AA and their fees are still ridiculous), but just mentioning them as they ARE cons.
