Photo Critique: DJ P0N-3

Hey guys! I just did my first effects filled photoshoot with a great cosplayer out of South Carolina, Amanda Finley. Would love to get a critique on this from all of you if at all possible.

Please feel free to let me know what you think. And if you don't like Double Stomp Productions on facebook yet, then feel free to like the page!

I plan on posting here much more often, so I'd love to hear from you! Thanks!

While photoshopping effects isn't my style, I think your shots are great. The poses were well done and focus was on point. Background could so some work though, all black leaves something to be desired!

Thanks! I normally don't do effects in my shoots. This was the first one I did effects in (well, other than the impromptu shoot I had at Animazement 2013 with 2 friends as they did Superboy Vs Goku which you can view at http://doublestompproductions.com/bl...y-photography/ . That was just done for fun though. lol) What I'm thinking of doing is not using effects unless the character or the situation calls for it such as Goku doing a Kamehameha, a My Little Pony character doing a certain technique, etc. Like you, I'm not too big on effects in photos, but I did want to give it a try in these 2 instances to see what people thought about it. ^_^

Yeah, def thanks for the critique! And definitely glad you like it!

They look pretty great to me, and its MLP friendship is magic so I think the effects work nicely. Just curious how do you do your effects? New to editing and trying to improve.
