Winter Soldier Metal Arm?

http://latimesherocomplex.files.word...pg?w=352&h=336

So I'm trying make Winter Soldier's metal arm. I was thinking about using Amethyst-Angel's Automail tutorial, but the shoulder piece is going to be tricky.

http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...1MkoXVsUsMIcZA

Here's a close up of the shoulder piece I'm talking about.

I want to make the arm as flexible as possible, but I don't want to use a sleeve or paint. I think using styrene and craft foam like the Amethyst tutorial will work best.

Any advice?

Hmmm.... I've been pondering Bucky's arm for a while now myself, but haven't actually done any construction yet. What are you planning on using as a base? Or are you wanting to attach it straight to your skin?

I've got a couple tutorials pulled up, but most use a sleeve then use the styrene/craft foam/or worbla automail over it. I think I've got it figured out, but I just gotta get the shoulder piece done first because that'll be the hardest part.

http://amethyst-angel.com/armormaking_automail.html I'm loosely following this tutorial.

A friend of mine used a pair of tights and drew the details on with pen. Looks pretty good.

Maybe this will help? Full tutorial, no foam, no worbla.

help

Hello, i know you would probably rather make the arm rather than buy it but i saw this on etsy and thought it might be handy. Perhaps you could ask the vendor questions. I hope this helps.

I heatformed mine around a fairly small wig head and it worked pretty well. It's not flexible, but separating the deltoid and the bicep helped with range of motion.

Sacrificed a little bit of canon for comfort. Here's a short tutorial... thing I wrote.
