Masquerades with Video Use?

Hey Guys,

I was considering entering the Fanime 2014 masq with a skit that utilizes a video in the background. But I can't seem to find anything on youtube with a person/group actually using a video. Has anyone done it? How does it work out? Are there example videos to give me an idea of how the final product looks?

I'm sorry if this has been posted before, I've been digging for a couple hours and can't find anything so far, so thank you for the help in advance!!

Look at the skits from Anime Expo.

Anime Matsuri had a big screen you could use as well.

Thank you for the reply!

Oh wow Anime Matsuri's is way awesome. I wish I could make it out there too. AX is more along the lines of what I was thinking, especially if they let cosplayers use video toward the end and not just the beginning.

If anyone has had experience with Fanime's video at the masq I'd still love to see and know how it went, off to see if I can find some AX video rules.

Well I may be able to help with that. From the looks of it, AX is using a high mounted projection screen system and Anime Matsuri is using a rear projection system.

FanimeCon uses an actual stage which is 112’ x 35’ (WxH) with a proscenium opening(the archway) (WxH): 49’ 9” x 30. The stage is 40’ deep. Pictures here http://livedesignonline.com/site-fil...bl_sjcivic.jpg

To support a rear projection system you would have to eliminate about 14’ at the back and set them up. One consideration is to use a thrust to move the performances closer to the audience and thus make use of the rear back stage are.

My question to everyone here is how much of a plus is that?

If provided how many would make use of the system?

Another option is to use the two high screens located to the left and right about 13 feet up or to project to a hung screen above the main stage. about 10 above or 15 feet up from the floor.

Thoughts?
