Exclamation Inara Serra Cosplay Fabric Question!

Hi!

I'm not sure if this is the correct folder to post but feel free to move if it isn't. I'm attempting an Inara Serra from Firefly/Serenity cosplay for NYCC and I'm having the worst time tracking down the fabric I'm looking for. I've tried just about every online fabric store that I can think of as well as ebay and I'm currently hunting on etsy. I'd settle for something close or similar at this point in the game. This is the fabrics I'm looking for:

This is a close up of an almost exact fabric another cosplayer found on ebay years and years ago , just to give a better idea of the general print: http://i910.photobucket.com/albums/a...fly/inara1.jpg

If anyone could point me in the right direction , if they've seen either of these somewhere or know of a website besides mood that carries an extensive selection or even another cosplayer that has done Inara, I would really be grateful!

Thank you!

My only suggestion is that the designers have been known to use sari fabric. There are thousands and thousands of saris on Ebay. It can be difficult to sort but you can select for colors.

A lot of her outfits are sari silks, so instead of yardage you would be starting with a garment (which is actually just several yards of gorgeous fabric). If you have an Indian community where you live, there may very well be a shop where you can get up close and personal with saris, at least to touch & feel and get your head around what to shop for.

Formal occasion saris are traditionally silk and the 'every day' saris are cotton, but today are made from rayon and a variety of man made fibers as well.
