I'm a female cosplayer who's choice of cos is usually the other sex. Guess I can be called straight but I like looking at girls but I'm married with a kid and that just makes a confused.

@ImNewHere: There is no such thing as being "entitled" to anything. That makes you sound like an ass. You are not "entitled" to a girl. And no girl/boy/others is "entitled" to have you. I suggest you take a deep look at your self and learn to love youself (both the good and the bad) first then look towards loving others.

Negative attention is still attention to you, isn't it?

This thread is a mixed bag of idiocy and depression now. Poor, poor thread.

Perhaps we should send the thread a dozen roses and an apology note.

If you would have read what I wrote I already said no one is entitled to anything other than death at the end of their life. Where did I say I was entitled to a girl? Did you imagine that? But hey, that's pretty normal, people will always misready what I say, or think I say different. And yeah, you can't love yourself when no one else loves you. The only thing you can do at that point is drive yourself as hard as you can to be the best at what others view as success simply to show them you have soem worth. They will not love you still, but at least they will give a measure of respect.

I read what you wrote correctly - but I've misread things in the past. People make mistakes. It's okay. Step back and take a deep breath.

Do I feel that you're hopeless ? Yes. But only due to your own way of thinking and doing. People prove me wrong on occasion and I'd love for you to do that but I know it's not going to be today, this week, or who knows when.

You don't need someone else's love in order to love yourself and in fact it can be distracting from what you do need, especially if you don't love yourself already. Your desire to be loved by them and to keep them will make you bend yourself to be someone who is not you, just so you don't have to be alone. And when you break up you'll either continue doing this - and it's true that some people do this over and over for years and even decades, possible some for their whole entire lives - believing that they'll never find love because they're themselves not right, but it's really more the fact that they are not themselves that they're not finding love, because it's very hard for anyone to love someone who's been pretending to be someone else for so long, who is so insecure, that you don't even know who they really are.

Being loved can help, but it doesn't have to be romantically. Having a friend who you know will accept you no matter what you tell them helps. Don't focus so hard on romantic love, it's not the only thing out there, not even the only kind of love.

And you don't have to pick someone out of the sea, there's no shame in getting set up by friends - because real friends know who you are and they know your other friend and they can see connections. It makes more sense than going blindly. And of course there's always the Internet. And the fact that it doesn't always "work out" and that's okay - because if you focus on being happy and not lying it doesn't have be the end of your life, the end of your hope, when a relationship ends.

But I know you're most likely not going to listen - you're getting older and have held these ideas for likely a long time - and if you're ever going to let go of them and this attitude it's most likely going to take a long time as well. But I never think it's too late, I never think it's impossible.

Straight, married for 3 years, and have a husband that happens to make one heck of a good looking woman! And yes, I crossplay. Why? Because the personalities of most men in media are very robust and interesting where as women are stuck with very little outside of the base damsel, mother, hag, or lover and tend to be very flat.

Being straight and crossplaying? You make it sound like it's a forbidden art or something...

Pansexual. Sometimes crossplay. I'm a man. But everyone thinks I'm a woman. It's awkward.

Oooh, a fun thread! I've had people think I was gay or trans, but I'm actually straight. Though I must admit that when I'm in costume I do notice guys just a little bit more. Especially if they're like this hot Xerxes cosplayer I met at Dragon Con. *swoon* Hmm, not helping my case am I? LOL XD

My girlfriend crossplays with me, she's straight. She plays the male characters, I do the female. She finds it great that I crossdress, she's even picked out my latest costume...little red riding hood
