Unhappy Patterns for TP Zelda's dress?

I'm trying SO HARD to make Zelda's dress work, but I'm having the absolute worst time trying to make the white portion at the bottom. I have already made the purple top part, and that fits fine, but I can't seem to figure out how to make the skirt part flow the way it should. I wanted to try to make it all one piece (the purple top part attached to the rest of the dress), but I can't seem to make it work the way I'd like for it to work. Anyone know of any patterns I could use to make the skirt the way it should look? Should I make a long petticoat to go underneath it, too?

What have you tried that DIDN'T work ?

I can't get the picture to load, but I think she has radiating (fuller on bottom, skirt semi-circular and/or pieces shaped) large closed box pleats on that skirt. Maybe.

I honestly would not make the outfit one piece. It's be too heavy and not drape right.

I'd suggesting making the skit (which is a box pleated skirt) either a dress or a skirt with straps, then wear the bodice over that.

?? I see no pleats at all, only an A line skirt with a slight train at the back (not long enough to trip others, just sweeps the ground and gives the whole dress that backward flow). There are TONS of patterns for dresses and skirts with this line, I'd look for a full length dress with princess seams, this eliminates the waistband all together. I would do the white as a separate dress because it will close in the back and the purple bolero closes in the front, trying to mash those to together is bad juju.

the spaghetti strap sheath (bridesmaid) is all you need, trim the train to a length you can handle wearing.
The decorated panel down the front should be a separate piece, make it long enough to sew to the bust of the dress, the top hidden under the purple bolero. it'll look great

I see what Penlowe sees, an A-line dress that just happens to gather up at the seams.
I agree that it won't fall properly if you make it just one piece.
