Thanks so much!
By the looks of it in the pictures, it has a shine. I'd go with a black vinyl and then a lining because of it's sturdiness and I think it would give off the same kind of feel. In order to do the quilted look, I would smoothly perforate the pattern into the vinyl and then hand stitch in the quilt pattern. I hope you understand what I mean by smoothly perforate because it's the best way I can think to explain it hahaha! Instead of stitching pieces together you could use a butter knife (for example) and create the pattern with the edge you DON'T cut with. I think if you apply the right amount of pressure, it'll give it good definition without actually cutting or damaging the material.

Im looking to make a cosplay for Kenzie Kenzington in Super Homie form from Saints Row 4

I've looked into metallic spandex, which seemed more preferable because it's more breathable and easier to work with, but the fabric I've come across all has, like, an almost glittery texture where as I need something that looks very shiney, smooth, almost liquid-y looking, similar to latex. Does anybody have any experience with PVC or Stretch Vinyl that can tell me if they're okay to work with or suggestions for working with them... also if anybody knows where I can find some shiney, catsuit worthy material that comes in that shade of dark purple and could tell me, it'd be much appreciated.

I've seen many cosplays use satin for this dress, but I'm really iffy about that? :< Maybe I'm being overly picky, but the shine satin brings is just something I don't want. Any other suggestions?

animedosage,
Mine is made from a normal bottomweight cotton. It's called Target at the Joanns I go to.
You can see it in my avatar to the left there
<--
It's 100% made of that material. In black, red and yellow. If you need help on the scarf I'm sorry..Mine was knitted..lol

Hey, all. Any suggestions on what kind of fabric to use for an Avengers Captain America cosplay? One that's near screen-accurate?

I'm working on re-doing my Two Tailed Demon Cat from Naruto. I am having a hard time making the mask. I've made two different ones in the past, one looked like a fox and was very flimsy, and the next i used expansion foam. neither turned out quite right so i was wondering if anyone could give me some help to create the mask for my demon cat.

This is the one i have now, the insulation foam mask:

This is what I'm trying to get close to:

Hello everyone!
I've never made a cosplay before and am not very familiar with fabrics. I'm going to attempt to make a Kanna from inuyasha cosplay, and have no idea where to start, let alone what fabric would be best to use.
These are the best reference pictures I could find. Unfortunately, Kanna is always holding her mirror in front of herself, so you can't really see behind it ^_^"

Thank you so much for your help!

I've never made my own cosplay outfit, but I want to try to make Kamala Khan's Ms. Marvel outfit. I'm not sure what fabric would be good for the dress part (non-red) of her outfit though. She hasn't made/worn her outfit in the comic yet, so there are only a couple of pictures to reference. Thoughts?

Couple more official images:

Hi, many of you know Link from Legend of Zelda, so I was wondering if you could help me with fabric choices. The version of Link I am doing is Twilight Princess, and I'm looking for a slightly heavier fabric than a plain cotton. The reason for this is the lighter cotton seems to "flowing" for the effect I'm looking for. For reference:
Sorry if this seems dumb, but I'm still pretty new to costumes. At least in the fabric department.
