He might have been a real person but unless the OP wants to deviate greatly from the pictures... yeah... there are no words for how not-remotely-historical that costume is.
And that's okay ! I don't think it's bad that they didn't go full historical. However, looking at actual Renaissance Italian patterns is not going to get any closer to that.
I agree that a RenFest-oriented modern commercial pattern might be useful as those are also at the most only very slightly tenuously historical in origin for the most part. :P
OP, for the top in particular if you're willing it would be a very easy project to try drafting yourself - as another option.
