Keeping stubborn hairs in place?

I recently restyled my wig for my Tokiya Ichinose (UtaPri) cosplay. But I can't get the bangs to stay swooped to the side and small sections fall into my face. I've been using Got2B Glued Freezing Spray and Spiking Glue on it, and I just can't get it to stay in place. I wanted to avoid using a bobby pin because I feel like it shouldn't need one, and it would probably show up in pictures and stuff.

At this point, the wig feels really over-styled and just generally crunchy and gross. I almost feel like I should wash the wig again and start over. :/

Any advice for keeping stubborn hairs in place?

Oh, and for reference I'm using a heat-resistant Magnum wig from Arda.

Did you try heat styling it first? It helps to retrain the fibers to bend in the direction you want, before spiking them.

I did a little with a hair straightener.

Bluh, I decided just to wash it again and start over. I'll try doing more heat styling this time around.

Heat styling is probably a good idea, and it might help to hold it in place with a bobby pin, then spray it with your freeze spray, and wait for it to dry. Then you can remove the bobby pin and hopefully it'll stay in place!
You could also use some silicone (the sealant type, you can get it from the hardware store) which has a bit more hold, but it's a permanent option. If you use clear and don't apply it too thick, it won't be seen. But it also won't wash out.

I tried doing more heat styling this time, and that worked like a charm!

I think I'll carry a couple bobby pins with me to the con, just in case.

Thanks for the advice, guys!
