I'd say be a bit more adventurous with your eyeliner. You've got a pretty standard cute girl eyeliner going there, which does work, but if you're feeling like you could do better, there's always a way to do it.

Looking at the way they do her eyes, I'd definitely lay the liner on thicker, but not have too much of a wing. Just follow the shape of your eyes, I guess. I think it's also a good look for false lashes (or at least more mascara), which can be either cute or fierce depending on the rest of the direction of your makeup. For the tough girl, maybe smudge a pencil or gel along your lower lid to get a slightly disheveled look.

Sorry if this was really long, I love makeup (especially eyeliner) and this was an issue I ran into when I was trying to figure out my Kyouko makeup. How to be both cute and badass.

Ah, thanks a lot for the ideas - I will try them out!
She is just kind of a tough case for me to peg, since I can't do my usual fierce bishi eyes (like I will with Satsuki) or else I will look too old/manly/uncute but I also can't do standard cute like with Kuroha since she really isn't a cutesy girl at all.
False lashes should help though!
I was a bit hesitant about them because now and then, they end up looking kinda drag queen-ish - leading me to another problem. I sort of didn't want to do too much, since she is a tomboy.
Ha ha I am pumped to figure this out though! >D

I always like to do false lashes, even small natural looking ones, when it comes to anime cosplay. Big, defined eyes are such a huge part of the art style and for some reason bigger eyelashes seem to really help that. Huge, thick ones or gyaru lashes are gonna look weird on her but the right pair shouldn't be too obvious. (I have one set that's subtle enough that I wore them to prom, lol).

So I decided like today that I want to go to AX AND go as fight club Mako...I'm feeling adventurous haha since there's really not much time and I'm quite an amateur cosplayer.

Does anyone have any idea how to get the sleeves of the coat to sort of "float" instead of flop down? It seems like this girl knew what she was doing and I really like the effect:

Also any and all suggestions for fabric are very welcome since I am not very good at choosing fabric.

Looks like whatever she used for the life fibers has some kind of stiffness to it that holds it up. Try wires.

So happy with my Nui eyepatch. Made it out of sculptey so it's smooth and sits nicely against my face instead of being flat.

Hello!! ^^ I have recently made a Satsuki Kiryuin cosplay in dormant Junketsu:

http://37.media.tumblr.com/17d6eccfe...5aoo1_1280.jpg
http://37.media.tumblr.com/4e509f199...5aoo3_1280.jpg

And I think I am ready to take the next step and make the transformed Junketsu cosplay!! :O

I have like no idea where to start on it though, most particularly the shoulder parts. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what they think they should be made of? I was thinking craft foam maybe? Also for the chest part, would anyone have suggestions for materials for that? I'm thinking i'll wear a nude bodysuit under the whole thing and I've got a pretty good idea how to make the whole bottom half, it's just the top half that's stumping me. xD

Any suggestions would be super helpful, thank you!!!

Hello!! (I posted a post earlier but it never showed up.. D
Anyways, I've recently cosplayed Satsuki Kiryuin in her desynchronized Junketsu:

http://37.media.tumblr.com/17d6eccfe...5aoo1_1280.jpg
http://38.media.tumblr.com/a7e808383...o1_r1_1280.jpg

And since I loved cosplaying her so much, I think I'm ready to take the next step and do the synchronized Junketsu version!! xD

However, I don't really know where to begin on it, primarily the upper half of the costume. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the shoulder things should be made out of? I was thinking maybe a kind of craft foam but I really don't have much of an idea? Also, the chest piece, does anyone have a clue of what that should be made from? It seems like it's very hard/stiff, so I don't really know how to go about that...
The bottom half I think I can figure out, a nude bodysuit of course, and the boots are pretty similar to the unsynchronized version so it shouldn't be too difficult.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!! Thanks so much!!

That looks really good! I love how crisp the shape is since you made it out of rigid material. Looks like you might want to sand the edges, though. How are you going to attach it to your face?

I got my Satsuki photos back from the photographer last night, and I'm incredibly happy with how they turned out! I'm glad I wore the costume out for a few hours, though, because now I know what I need to fix for comfort before AX. The boots need inserts really bad!

bunneys, your Satsuki is great. x.x I'm in awe.

I'm thinking of attaching a hair clip to the top, since it's supposed to be over her hair and use some kind of glue around the sides and bottom to keep it sturdy. Originally I was thinking spirit gum, but I've heard eyelash glue can also do jobs like this?

EDIT: My contacts came which lead to a makeup test, I decided to finally post some progress pictures on the internet. Greetings from rubber cement hell. https://38.media.tumblr.com/a5be5c5c...vbwqo3_500.jpg

I'm currently working on Override Junketsu Satsuki for AWA and I already have the feeling this cosplay is going to kick my ass. Regardless, I am pretty excited to sculpt things out of expanding spray foam! I've never made a costume this complex and bulky before, so wish me luck! If anyone has any tips on how to keep the shoulders balanced/attached, I would love to hear them.
