Need help picking Pattern for FFXV jacket *pic*

Hello,

I was wondering if someone cold help me pick out a similar pattern for this jacket

I was searching and came across these two that seemed the closest match to me.

This one seemed best:
http://www.simplicity.com/p-6375-mis...ction.aspx#t-0

I would use the military style long coat and just have to extend the color up, make the sleeves short, and add a zipper.

This one is also one that looked similar:
http://www.simplicity.com/p-7974-bur...acket.aspx#t-0

It has a zipper and would just have to add a collar are make the sleeve short.

What do you think?

if there's anyone who has done this jacket or similar, could give me pointers on patters or altering patterns, I will greatly appreciate it.

I think the first one is the better of the two, the second one is less tailored, more boxy.
It's much easier to convert buttons to zipper than the other way around.

I definitely agree with Penlowe (she is always right!). The Simplicity pattern seems much better suited for this project. The standing collar in the green jacket is very close to the collar on Noctis' jacket. Just get some good, sturdy interfacing and lengthen the collar pattern to get the same look.

I recently made a Burda jacket, and I HATED the pattern. It was poorly sized and needed a LOT of altering. Simplicity patterns are just the best. Good luck!

Ha! I wish! I am merely old enough to have failed enough to know better by now
