Kitsune Cosplay Advice Needed

Okay, I have found my perfect Odori Yukata Fabric for my Kitsune Cosplay, but this is more about the fox tail than really anything else.

My character's name is Ohisa, and she is the daughter of an Inari Fox - hence the white and red-lined Kitsune mask I'll be using, and a Gray Fox. Note, that the closest thing to courtship between her parents included tree climbing, dining disagreements, and a lot of curiosity.

The major problem is the fox tail. As seen in pictures, the Gray Fox has a black-tipped tail while most Kitsune are white and gold. So my question, should I just stick with a white and black-tipped tail? Or should I try to incorporate a bit of gray / brown into the white tail with the black tip?

A clearer picture of a Gray Fox Tail: X

Also, Ohisa now has her Hoshi no Tama, so the fox tail is really the last thing on the list. Any advice?

I think that since it's your character, it's your choice. Do a coloured pencil test. Draw out a couple of tails and colour them with the different options you're thinking of and with them side by side see which one you like best. I've done that for wigs. Took a picture of me in full costume with both wigs and tried to figure out which one worked best.

Good luck. I look forward to seeing your completed costume.
