I've been doing photo 'Mock-Ups' on myself lately just to test the look of a character before committing to building/crafting it. The one I did for Star Lord...well...I'm feeling fairly confident I can pull this look off. But before investing in the wig and jacket, I thought I'd run it by everybody here and get some feedback. What do you think? 'Go for it'? -or- 'Not worth it.'

You can definitely pull it off!

Do you have a more public pic...? That link you provided sets off some alarm flags about downloading things.

Okay, I'll admit I had to work on it to figure it out with that complexion. IF you're okay with dying your hair, you could go with Fate's Archer. https://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Arch...te/stay_night) You could also probably pull off a Gene Starwind https://outlawstar.wikia.com/wiki/Gene_Starwind or an adult Black Star https://souleater.wikia.com/wiki/Black%E2%98%86Star The characters aren't QUITE an exact fit, however, you can always adjust the character's story to fit you better (IE, Gene Starwind is a bounty hunter, so you could say "I got tired of risking my life and now I sell used spaceships!")

The other option would be to make a Borg or Terminator costume. Either one wouldn't be that expensive for the most part, but the Borg would be somewhat easier. All you really need is to make a partial skull plate from EVA foam, stick in some old cables, wires or parts and then strap it around your head while securing the cables under your shirt. You could put some paint on yourself to resemble the nanite conversion process.

The Terminator would be a bit more difficult in that you'd have to make a pretty exact match to your face's shape, then glue it down and hide the transitions with some latex (there's a couple of "do it yourself" latex skin recipes on Google). Then you have to get a makeup that matches your skintone.

@Dr Tweed

When I saw your pic I immediately thought you were one of the Admirals from Star Trek The Next Generation. You could also pull off most of Patrick Stewart's roles....

AX 2019: Planning Ahead

I need some ideas. I was not able to go to Anime Expo with my Fiance this year. However, we are planning on going next year as part of our Honeymoon. I want to do something that isn't overly difficult to build/sew that would really wow people. Part of me wants to do Revolver Ocelot from MGS 2 (Plant Chapter) but I am not sure. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know.

I also want to know when doing cosplay:"it is more important to be the same as character or I love cosplay regradless of not being the same as character.

Thanks! I'd not thought of that, but what a cool costume!

Derp, this is how I look like without any makeup or cosplay whatsoever (bonus my boyfriend being a dweeb).

I am 1.70-tall, a bit unfit and chubby because I'm lazy and my job is killing me. I'm currently planning to cosplay Julian Devorak (The Arcana Game), Princess Tiabeanie, Tyrande Whisperwind (World of Warcraft) and Triss Merigold (The Witcher 3), maybe even try an Admiral Jaina Proudmoore cosplay for 2020. /shrug
