Bring back to life an older thread... I'm sure I'll be doing that a bit as I try to find people in my area.

Anyway, another Wisconsin cosplay here! I'm about an hour north of Green Bay, but from the look of things, most of the Wisconsinites are in the southern portion of the state.

I did find this map where you're able to add your location to, if it helps things.

It's been about 4 years since I posed that list, and sadly some of these conventions no longer exist. Wausaubi con retired, and Kappa Kon merged with Concinnity into a multi genre convention. I have a more updated list that includes non anime cons (sci-fi, tabletop gaming, etc.) to get people started off for the new year:

Green Bay: July

Kitsune Kon (anime)
http://kitsunekon.com/

Madison/Middleton:

Geek.kon (multi-genre; primarily anime, sci-fi, and gaming) held in august
http://www.geekkon.net/

Odyessy Con (science fiction and fantasy) not scheduled for 2018 due to year break
http://www.odysseycon.org/

Gamehole Con (tapletop gaming) November
https://www.gameholecon.com/

WisCon (science fiction convention with a feminist/social justice focus) May
http://www.wiscon.info/

Wizard World Comic Con – Madison (comic books) Spetember
https://wizardworld.com/comiccon/madison

Telsacon (steampunk) November
http://teslacon.com/

Forge Midwest (primarily roleplaying, also board and card games, adult focused) April
http://forgemidwest.wordpress.com/

Milwaukee: Feb – April

Anime Milwaukee (anime) held in February
http://animemilwaukee.com/

CONCINNITY (multi-genre; sci-fi, gaming, steampunk, anime, doctor who, etc.) held in April
http://concinnitycon.weebly.com/

Platteville: Feb/March

Plattecon (primarily tabletop gaming, some anime and videogaming)
http://www.plattevillegaming.com/plattecon/

Wisconsin Dells:

May

No Brand Con (anime)
http://www.nobrandcon.org/p/

November

Daisho Con (multi-genre, primarily anime and gaming)
http://daishocon.com/

It's hard to find attendance listings for the non anime cons, but according to the Wikipedia pages Anime Milwaukee is the largest of the anime cons in the state with over 9,000 attendees reported the last two years, and they’re on track to break 10,000 in the coming years as they’ve consistently shown nothing but growth. Daisho Con in the Dells looks to be the next largest with over 4,000 attendees reported in 2015, but I can’t find any numbers for more recent years. Geek.kon had over 2,500 attendees in 2016, but dropped to around 1,800 in 2017 after a change in management caused a massive backlash. Kitusne Kon reported almost 2,500 attendees in 2015, but as I’m struggling to find to find more recent numbers it’s hard to tell whether it’s overtaken geek.kon attendance wise or not. No Brand Con looks to be the baby of the bunch with just over 1,500 reported in 2015, but again I can’t find more recent numbers.

dang its a necro,

but honestly, it does seem to be difficult to find cosplayers in the area

kaukauna here,

honestly, and i think i proposed this before in proper section

i believe the site could bennefit from an opt in profile data option
that puts peoples location into a searchable list

so you could go Profiles/ member area/ country/ state/ city
and find members near you who dont mind being found
