Gardevoir and Gallade skit (Pokemon)

Next year me and my friend are playing to cosplay Gardevoir and Gallade. I will be making the costumes by myself entirely as he knows nothing about making costumes.
Thing is I am contemplating the idea of a skit for the 2 of us for the cosplay contest at a convention we are going to.
I would really like as many ideas as possible because he might be up for somethings, and I might just disagree to a few things myself.
We are great friends who have known each other for 5 years. We are not in a sexual relationship by any means, so romance of any sort is out of the question. As well, we are not allowed to do caramelldansen, levan polka, or any of those kinds of things. We are also not allowed to say, act to hint to sexual things in any matter.

I would greatly appreciate it if you guys could give me ideas.
We have ds's as well as other props that we can use.
I will be making him 3 plush hand held pokeballs and for myself I will be making a pokeball bag. He will have 2 tonfas that represent Gallades blades, and the red gems in our chests will be made out of paper clay.
Any advice would be lovely. I will try to answer as quickly as possible.

Well maybe start by think of something you do want to and build off of that. Part of a skit is really wanting to do it and not just settling for "what works". Think of an idea you are both comfortable with and then wrap your heads around the details.

Now my first thought was to do sort of a take on Romeo and Juilet, but you said no romance so that cuts that out.

Both Gardevouir and Gallade are sensative and serious pokemon so I don't really see comedy working out to well for them personally. I'd say stick with something in the Drama area rather then spilling into Comedy. A serious dance routine like ballet might work given to right music and mood.

I like your idea, I will really just have to think about it.

Thinking about the pokemon you're using, I'd suggest a classical dance to the song "Pas De Deux" from the nutcracker.

You can either create your own choreography to it or use the one that was already made for it to which you can find easily on youtube.

Well I hope this helped.

I HIGHLY recommend doing a basic (and fun) hip hop routine side by side. It'll be fun for you both and will display the difference between your Gardevoir and his Gallade. I'm thinking a short part of dancing in tandem then mix it up with him twirling you, then go back into the tandem. Something that will keep you pumped up and will get the audience going.

Either that or side by side swing dance steps (that would really show off your dress).

This idea gives me an idea! You two could have a dance off! He'd be dancing to hip-hop, and you'd be dancing to classical, and both of you fighting over the boombox/whatever, until it settles on a song that you can both dance to or something.
