I am tentatively excited for this one, though I probably won't get it immediately. I love the overhaul of the look of it, finally, with the new battle scenes and new perspective of the world map. Very cool.

Also yes, fire starter = adorable!

It's soooo cute! I'm still thinking as to if I like the water one... It looks odd. I haven't figured out if it's a good odd or bad odd yet.

I'm hoping that the fire starter won't be another fire / fighting again though.....

I'm actually pretty excited for this game. Generation V didn't wow me... and even though I bought Black and Black 2, I really didn't enjoy them that much at all. However, this generation shows promise... at least I think so.

The art style they took on for this game looks absolutely gorgeous. I'm glad that they're taking advantage of the 3DS for the new generation, and I'm certainly glad that they have Pokemon from past generations in the new game.

As for the starters, I like Froakie and Fennekin quite a bit, but I'm not a fan of Chespin. It looks like a weird mix of Buneary and Oshawott to me, I suppose. XD I'll probably start with Fennekin first, and when I get the other version, I'll use Froakie. I'm curious to see what subtypes they'll have, if any. As long as we don't get another Fire/Fighting, I'll be okay. XD

I adore the X legendary. I think that although it looks like Verizion to an extent, it looks absolutely beautiful. The Y legendary looks cool too, but I like the X legendary better in terms of design.

Overall, I'll probably get X shortly after it comes out, and Y some time later.

Oh my god I was having a heart attack this morning when I found out, I'm so excited!!! Slightly disappointed that they aren't RSE remakes, but still freaking out. ^_^

I cannot get over how cute the starters are, I think I'm in love!

EDIT: Ok, the one thing I'm not too thrilled with is the fact that the new protagonist looks incredibly similar to Nate and Hilbert... I mean seriously, would it have killed them to at least change his color scheme?

Fire starter is super cute, looks like a combination of Purrloin and Vulpix. Yay for more Firefox Pokemon! (and if Ninetails is any indication, Fennekin's evos should be pretty damn gorgeous).

I also really like Chespin. Jury is out on Froakie.

The legendaries are really weird. So we have mega-antlered dear and giant wing bird thing (Yes, I know they look like an "X" and a "Y" but still...kinda weird) Also, yay, no more color/jewel thing with the names.

Also, digging that apparently France will be the basis for the game world, after NY for Gen V and Japan for I-IV.

But the best part, 3DS exclusive, AND in full 3D this time, FINALLY. Hopefully there's improved online connectivity...I know I'll never get the Pokemon MMO I want, but hopefully Nintendo and GF do more beyond what previous games have done.

The series has been long destroyed. Same old song and dance every time. 8 badges. Elite four. Legendaries. We NEVER got a game about the Orange Islands or any of the other random locales from the anime. I can only imagine how unoriginal the names and looks on some of them will be ( a giant pile of garbage...SERIOUSLY???!!!

Well you've got to keep in mind that every new generation is aimed at a new, younger audience. Don't fix what isn't broken, Pokemon is still one of the best selling video game franchises ever.

And don't get me started on "unoriginality". Every generation has it's duds, Gen 1 was just as bad. For goldeen and seaking they just slapped a horn on a goldfish and called it a pokemon. Muk and Grimer are piles of mud. They're no better and no worse than 5th generation pokemon.

EDIT: Also, you can't expect every game to contain every location from the anime. Technology has it's limits. There's only so much you can contain in one game cartridge.

Actually, while not called the Orange Islands, they were playable in Pokemon Leaf Green and Fire Red.

I wouldn't say the series has been destroyed by any means. I suppose to someone who has been playing the games since gen1, it's understandable that you'd be wanting something fresh and whatnot, though sadly the Pokémon franchise isn't meant for the dedicated fans. It's meant for each new generation of children that they can cash in on. So why change the formula that works every time? I'll admit, even I'm tiring a bit of the same old same old... but I'm still going to buy both X and Y. Sure, it's the same premise every time, but that's what makes them fun. XD I mean, if most FPS games can be vaguely the same, then why not Pokémon?

Anywho, this is all just my opinion and whatnot. Not trying to force you to share my opinion, just pointing it out. :3

I stopped playing Pokemon after Diamond and Pearl. I kind of don't like how new Pokemon generations are becoming more and more frequent lately. Back in my day, there was only one new game for every new handheld Nintendo system!

But regardless, I might actually look forward to this Pokemon game for once since at the very least it looks fresh. Hopefully GameFreak will put some changes to the actual gameplay as well in ways that I actually like.

Actually kind of excited for X/Y. The game looks fantastic for a 3DS title, and the chance to Poke'-throwdown with Mrs TheAnarchris looks like fun. Will probably day 1 it.
