Figured I'd post this here to share the news if anyone hasn't seen it yet!
Sailor Moon is getting a brand new anime Summer 2013! It was announced this morning! So excited!

I know I just found out a few hours ago! This is exciting, hopefully this sparks new Sailor Moon fans worldwide, especially in the UK. They said in one article that the new anime will be available GLOBALLY. That's great!

But I'm confused as to what this new series will be as in would it go through the WHOLE manga and make this series more closer to it, or is it just a continuation arc (eg Chibiusa and the Amazoness Quartet?)

I'm so happy, this is awesome! and the fact that Momoiro Clover Z is singing the theme for it is even better I really does hope this airs in the UK, I missed the Old anime ^^

NO FUCKING WAY!!!!! (mind blown) Sailor Moon was my gateway anime for me back in ... 1995 (it was first in aired Canada before it its the US a a few months latter), if they are doing a Manga reboot for the Anime even better. I can't believe the manga is 20 years old....

Yay!!! I'm sooo excited for it! I was hoping they'd do something for the 20th anniversary but I'd never even dreamed of this! I'm really curious to see how they handle the senshi costumes. Depending on what they do I may be wearing two Sailor Moon cosplays next Animazement. >,<

I'm happy, but at the same time worried. What are they going to do with it? Will it be truer to the manga? How long before I can buy cute box sets on dvd? lol

I kind of hope its based more off the manga. Since I found the manga a lot better then the anime and it had a lot more darker themes to it then the anime (since it was focused on child audiences)
But now the child audience that it was aimed for back then have all grown up.
So I hope they re make it closer to the Manga <3

but this has now pumped me up to make my Princess Serenity cosplay !<3

I'm a part of a huge Sailor Moon group next year and have been invited to do Super Sailor Moon, we have all the senshi which we hope to debut at the London MCM Expo in May!

I legit shed tears over this, and I am not ashamed.

I cannot WAIT to see how it goes. I've heard that it will be a closer adaptation of the manga, and the manga is in turn a bit more mature than the anime was.

Now I'll get to tell some darned kids these days to get off my lawn when they discover this "new Sailor Moon thing". I'm happy that SM will be spread to younger generations, but I'm still going to be all SM hipster. I was at AWA last year when some girls were fawning over an awesome Sailor Moon cosplayer but didn't know who she was cosplaying. Gahhh!

This is Good news! Im glad the creators of old popular anime/cartoons are bringing them back.
Voltron,Thundercats,My little pony, and now Sailor moon. I just wish they bring back Gundam, and Jem

o.O i just hope they keep their outfits kinda the same..any shorter and Parent will attack.lol

^- Throw Zoids in on that list and I'm 100% with you. lol

I just hope they don't go too mature with the new one. There is a happy balance between the two and even in the manga (as far as I know/remember) there was never a lot of blood or anything.

I think I read on twitter from moonkitty that they said it is going to be aimed for those who watched the anime when it first came out. Its going to be more mature. So there is a possibility that it will be closer to the manga this go around. But we can only speculate for now!!

I'm currently watching the anniversary show with subs and I was really happy to hear about the new anime, but I'm not really happy with the band that will sing the opening- they pretty much suck imho, they can't sing, can't dance and their so-called "cosplays" were just plain ugly and inaccurate. Seriously, anyone writing here in the Sailor Moon sub-forum would've done much better than that -.-'

Oh phew, I'm not the only one who thought that! Everyone seems to be like "omgz kawaii Momoiro Clover Z will be singing it too". No, they all have HORRIBLE voices, and what is up with the band member who was "cosplaying" Mars and had a PINK outfit? No, just no.
If you're going to promote a Sailor Moon event, please don't wear cheaply designed outfits.

There are so many better singers out there, I mean all the old theme songs were sung greatly? Why not get something at that level, or bring back the original singers? Anything but MCZ.
It seems as if they create a build up of hype to the Sailor Moon franchise and then it turns to shit. I don't think anyone is handling the series very well - it's saddening.

If they're definitely going to use MCZ, PLEASE use autotune.
