Neoprene-like material?

Hi all, I'm still relatively new to serious(?) cosplaying, and am in need of some help for materials. I'm looking into making a Caulder costume (Advance Wars: Days of Ruin). The Lab coat seems easy enough, but underneath it he's wearing what appears to be a jumpsuit of some kind (Somewhat similar to this one)

Now in an ideal world, Neoprene would be the most authentic material to use for such a thing. I on the other hand am looking for a decent facsimile of such a material if possible (or a really cheap neoprene provider). Any suggestions?

I'm not familiar with the characters, but from the ref pics I think that either would look just fine with pleather.
