Camera for seeing outside headless costume?

So I'm doing The Headless Horseman from WoW

https://cdna.artstation.com/p/assets...jpg?1448424517

Thing is he doesn't have a head and it would be fairly difficult to see out of a solid breastplate. Plus I think it would be fun to see what the detached head is seeing.

So I'm wondering if anyone knows a good bluetooth camera, baby camera, car rearview camera or anything like that. I need the refresh rate to be pretty high so I don't struggle walking around and it can't be too big.

any sort of camera arangement is gona cost some money

the general idea if to mount a camera somewhere (like in the head like you mentioned)
then you mount the display module in front of wherever your face is
some digital cameras may have a phone app...
whats the function name? cast screen, remote viewing,
it either shares or send the visual data to another device

if your putting it in the helmet size shouldnt be too much an issue
but at ~100$ your range of camera possibilities is still prety good
last i was there the cheapest dash/backup cams at bestbuy was ~70$

id think the only options that would have some lag time would be baby moniters
and those inspection cams for looking around engine comparments and stuff

but being able to pair up the cam to a seperate viewing device is gona be the key
feature needed

unless you feel like gutting a camera and extending the wireing
screens use some ribbon stuff so youd be extending the lens wires
if possible
(im not knowlegible on electronics or cameras)

I can spend a decent amount of cash on it. Anywhere up to $300 as I have a lot of cosplays that could use this (I have a love for masked cosplays and they tend to have shit visibility)

Ill avoid baby cameras, they do often have lag now that I think about it.

I've seen a few that bluetooth to phones but as most cosplay stuff its hard to tell how well they would be used for the unique requirements cosplay tend to have

i know we have a photographer or 2 on this site so maybe theyll pop up
and might be able to give more informed response

might need to give it a few days though, since they might not be on everyday

This is one of the few setups i've seen doing this, even if its a bit outdated
http://themetapicture.com/clever-costume-for-halloween/

You could also get a second hand phone, add a wide angled lense, and mount it to the inside front of the armor with the lense having a discreet hole to look through

I would pop in an old phone or tablet, that way you can record the video in a self-contained unit. Find one with that can use a sd card, Wifi and bring extra USB battery banks. You can get a set of camera phone lenses from the 99 cent only stores.

So much could go wrong, though. What if the wifi fails and now you're blind?
Hide some eyeholes in the ornamentation on the breastplate and have a handler help you move around....

I dont understand the need for wifi? A phones camera will show live feed until you hit the button to take a picture. You don't need it to be connected to wifi or a service in order for this feature to work.

A good rechargeable external battery is a good idea though (About $50)....

The head is going to be detached though

Are you saying I could bluetooth an old phone with another phone?

I missed the part about you wanting it to be wireless in the head. That was my bad. Though I really think you'd have a more reliable and easier time hiding the lens in the chest piece.

Maybe check out drone to phone cameras? I think they're bluetooth, or at least designed to work away from things like home/hotel wifi. See if you have a local owned hobby store that does drones, as they may be able to get you just the camera setup, or a broken drone with a working camera

example, has real time transmission

Hmm, I would likely have to tear apart the drone to get the camera.

Do you know if Gopros stream live to phones through bluetooth?

It also seems like gopros might use an adhoc wifi connection directly with a phone? Having trouble finding out if this would destroy my data for the month or not

GoPros are Wifi based. And you can buy a camera replacement for drones.
There are tutorials for Webcams for Phones and Tablets out there.

It looks like drones are FPV cameras, which you can get separately. Google and youtube have a bunch of results on FPV to phone s, too. Or even to small LCD monitors

Oh wow those are perfect.

My efforts to google out removable or separate drone cameras didn't get my anything even remotely as good as that.

I'll post some pictures once I get something put together
