What is Live Action Role Playing?

We can only Guarantee 40 spots for people for the LARP due to the limited amount of transportation space available and characters offered.

Vlarp Productions is a Non-Profit Organization that creates Live Action Role Plays based on an Anime or Video Game. Our organizers spend an entire year working on the battle system, personalized ID Cards, storyline, finding the right place to do the event and preparing everything to make sure everyone has a great time. Our goal is to make sure this is a weekend that you'll never forget and enjoy yourself to the fullest.

What we do is hold an event once a year, over the period of a weekend in the summer and go camping out in the woods in a reserved area. It’s a great way to get your imagination going, a weekend of nothing but outdoor exercise and meet tons of new friends! Every year we have everyone exchanging e-mails to keep in contact with their new found friends.

You might think "Well, how am I going to be able to fit into the storyline?" or "How can I get into my character?". The storyline we create every year involves everyone, so you might think you'll have no part, when in truth, you have an important role to play. Not to mention, when things start picking up in the beginning you'll start acting like the character your portraying without much effort. During the role play you'll start to think, act and feel the emotions your character would feel in such a situation because of those around you treating you like your character.

Though you need to remember to participate if you want to get involved with the story. Sitting around doing nothing and complaining that everything isn't revolving around you will not help anything. Get involved and go discover the storyline, make alliances and enemies.



Example:

You're Tifa, and your running through the forest trying to find Cloud during the role play. Seeing someone in the distance you hide in the bushes and watch them. Though when you see it's Actually Sephiroth your heart begins to beat quickly as fear consumes you to realize, he's looking right at you! You'll feel yourself getting scared and event your heart beating quickly as you actually think. "Oh Crap."

We have a completely safe Environment, meaning NO drugs, NO alcohol & NO sexual activities. We are VERY strict on our Rules and will ban anyone who will break them at our events and report them for any illegal uses.

Information you will need

When: Friday July 20th to sunday 22nd 2012
Where: Camping Paradis
Limit of Participants: 40
Cost: The money we charge for this LARP is absolutely NON-PROFIT. This is only for the cost of campsites, busing, food and whatever other things we will be providing to the players during the weekend.

Regular Fee: $30

Note: You can Pay by Cash, Check or Money Order

Important: Please give the money to Valerie(Lanna_Waterdrop). Make sure you have the permission forms as well. You can contact Valerie via vlarp-registration@hotmail.com for those and as soon as you do she will send them over to you.

Also note that we will not be giving you your money back if you drop out for stupid reasons or one month before the game. Your reason must be of a very serious nature that could not be avoided in any way.

I.E. Death in family, broken limb, etc.

This means if your parents won't allow you, it's your fault for not dealing it out with them before giving us the money. Same thing goes for planned ahead trips, you should have been informed beforehand or told your parents about your absence that weekend.

Please Note - When Reserving a Character you MUST make a payment arrangement with the organizers. You have two weeks to get us the money, if you need more time and are sure of wanting to take part in this, we can make other arragements. This is not a money issur as much as a complete confirmation on whom will be attending and not loosing participants right before the event.

This rule does not apply to those living outside of the city of Ottawa/Gatineau. Other arrangements will be made that is more suitable for you.
