Con Diet

I've been on a diet for the last 4 months. I've been trying very hard to lose weight for my health but cosplay is another big reason. During this time I've lost almost 70 pounds. I'm only at the half way point mostly because my eating habits where very very bad. Still Awesome con is this weekend and as i've dropped 2 shirt sizes I feel good about myself. Still eating at cons isn't cheap or easy. On top of that I can't eat any bread or carbs. What do you all do to not just go out to fast food or not eat overpriced and bad for you con food?

Congrats on the weight loss! That's awesome

As someone with multiple food allergies, eating out usually isn't an option for me at cons. The short answer is you'll have to bring your own food (or pick up groceries once you arrive).

If you have access to a cooler or mini fridge in your room, you can store your own perishable food. I typically stock hard boiled eggs (for breakfast), lunch meat, cheese, and veggies. I'll also purchase a few non-perishable staples like crackers and granola bars.

On the con floor, I always bring water and snacks, so I'm not tempted to purchase the over-priced food when I get hungry. I usually bring trail mix, baby carrots, protein bars, beef jerky, and fruit while I'm walking around. Hope this helps a little bit.

Hope you have fun at the con!

Congratulations
Own it!
I second my_dark, I'd recommend you buy your own food; as it's cheaper. But buy food according to your diet so you can keep at it (unless you have some leeway in what you're able to eat) plus it'll be healthier then what they sell at cons.
Maybe if you've bought some groceries, you can pack a pre made meal along with snacks, and they have those 'diet' granola bar stuff (Fibre One, Special K etc.)
Water is a must have, diet or no diet to keep hydrated.

Unrelated, but I wanted to mention I got your signature xD

Hey! So congratulations on kicking ass on your weight loss goal! I'll always support people who want to get healthy, because its amazing. I'm proud of you for making a lot of progress towards your goal! Keep drilling it and you'll knock it out!

As far as a con diets go, I'm with everyone else. You gotta look after you, and if that means you're heading up to the room to eat, then that's what you gotta do. Finding healthier meal choices at conventions can be hard, especially when the access to junk food is so much easier. Start with grabbing a healthy and hearty breakfast at the hotel that you're staying in, if you can. A well rounded breakfast can help curb appetites and help make eating throughout the con a lot easier, especially if you've got snacks.

Making sure you stick to a healthy eating plan at a convention is important. Eating dinner relatively early is also another smart choice, because the earlier you eat, the easier it is on the body to digest before you go to sleep.

I wish you the very best of luck in the rest of your journey, my friend! STAY AMAZING!!!!!!

Well done on your progress, don't give up. Yeah, it's really hard to eat healthy at cons. Cereal. Start the day right with your fav healthy cereal and add a banana. Only the milk needs to be in fridge or cooler. If you know you'll have room in a fridge frozen entrees that have veggies in them. Apples, pears, (I won't recommend oranges because I'm deathly allergic to them) or other hard fruit that don't really need to be kept cool. Granola and fruit bars. Nuts.

Be prepared and it helps. Also, indulge a little. Go out for one meal. Enjoy. It's a con, have some fun, but in moderations.

While technically true, this is not new information, actual advice, or.....anything? At all? You're post farming. If you want to practice your English be my guest, but do it on hellolingo instead.
