I am trying to cosplay Shun/hades from saint seiya and I need help on how to do this. I am so a noob and I only know how to use Paper Mache. I am wonering how to go about making this costume, I have the costume, I just need the armor. I am trying to make the armor look 3d and shiny like metal but not metal. I need all the help I can do, as long as its something this noob can do I am open to any suggestions. Please I need help bad. I will include links to the pictures.

Are you planning to make Shun's Andromeda's Cloth(Armor) OR the Armor parts of Hades Shun?

I am not making shun's cloth just parts of the armor shun is wearing when he was possesed by hades.

Then you can use 5-10mm Craft Foam for the Shoulder Pauldrons with details added on using 2mm. To get the shiny effect, can try looking for "Shiny" Pleater or Foil Jersey and cut it according to the Details Design before pasting it onto the 2mm Craft Foam.
Or paint it on using Shiny Gold Paint (think the ones in the Can kind).

Thanks so much. Another question, is paper mache good to or is there any other way to get the shape I need for the armor? Thank you once again.

Well, it depends on how you do the paper mache. Strips of Newspaper or White/Brown paper and type of glue used, and how thick you do it. Also if you did try to get a smooth texture to the surface.

One problem I see with Paper Mache is that is can get damaged if get too wet but that can be solved with adding a layer or 2 of Clear Coat to create a "waterproof" layers on its surface.


For getting Craft Foam into shape, well, there is the Heat Gun or Hair Dryer.
But I haven't get round to do my Pauldrons for Hades Alone (and his are more "straight") so not too sure how far you can go if using Heat to curve the Craft Foam into shape.
