Cool Rock climbing

Anybody else into rock climbing? I started gym climbing this past summer and I LOVE it! It's fun and I've become much stronger. I'd recommend it to anybody - just grab a friend or two, find a local gym, and go try it out for a week. You'll be hooked.

Plus, it exercises your whole body, including abs, arms, back, and legs so you look good in cos

I used to do rock climbing at the Y. It was a ton of fun, right up until I got lice from the helmets. Climbing rocks at the beach is more fun anyway.

I did a bit of rock climbing as a teen, and it was pretty fun, but I never felt hooked on it. It was more I tried it because I was stupidly afraid of heights and thought it seemed like a good way to conquer that and get into shape at the same time.

My best friend from college, though, now he is REALLY into rock climbing. He's gotten quite built (espeically in the upper body) just from rock climbing and working a job that has a good amount of manual labor (he's a set builder). You're right, though, it totally is a whole body workout (including feet and ankles!). It's also good for balance and proprioception (body awareness), which many workout plans just up and ignore: a real shame since these things are key for injury prevention.

I rock climbed only once and it was at that little wall at this place called 'Romp-A-Round'. Don't know if anyone's ever heard of the place but I had quite a few birthday parties there and if you made it to the top of the wall, you got a free pass to come back.
It was really great and I'd love to get into it as more of an exercise thing. One of my friends down in Ocean City does it but more as a release after a day of sitting at a desk for work). If only I could find a place that offers it. Sadly our Y does not.
