Simple 1899 hairstyles?

I am planning on cosplaying a character from a book set in 1899 New York, and was wondering what simple Victorian hairstyles I could go with. My character is not very rich, and I doubt she would do fancy hairstyles, but just settle on a bun. Any help you could give would be appreciated.

Most of the old photos and paintings/plates I've seen of the late Victorian/Edwardian eras, were simple to fancily-curled high buns with some volume in the hair, or a sort of drawn-up poof, unless they were going for a big gibson-girl look. (Examples; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:18...hion_plate.jpg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Se...aokovskaia.jpg

And it looks like a lot of working class women did a simple high bun hairstyle. (More examples- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Va...892_detail.png http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Do...nt_ironing.jpg )
