Help with a Homestuck Cosplay

Im trying to do a Horuss Cosplay but i dont really know how to do his Jacket Would anyone be able to help? im thinking of going to Steampunk Stuff since it looks like something from there This is what it looks like http://www.zerochan.net/1307394#full and i dont really have a Budget so can anyone help?

some of us sadly are not homestucks D;

one warning with anything with the label 'steampunk' it usually about 20% more expensive than normal stuff and is usually just normal stuff thats been renamed or modded.

That said, if you aren't a particularly strong seamstress I would recommend finding a modern coat in a similar style


and modifying it. But I would avoid anything labeled "steampunk" for the reasons mentioned above. Steampunk is very popular as of late and many merchants are taking advantage of that fact to sell low quality stuff at inflated prices.

If you do choose to go the sewing it from scratch route I would recommend a nice heavy cotton canvas for the coat, as it will give you the shape and wight you will need at a reasonable pricepoint.
