Ah no, I didn't mean it in that way - that would seem really shallow. Because I can understand how stressful it can be to find the right sellers, which is part of the reason why I make my cosplays (and dread looking for wigs!) x_x

Though it's silly to compare the "work ethic" of buying/commissioning and making (as in, some people think it's just as hard to work for the money to then buy what they want as opposed to someone who made it). From what I've witnessed, a lot of people who do buy their cosplays DO realise the hard work that goes into outfits (and an attitude like that I CAN admire)

If you disagreed with my first point, then saying that, then making a seperate paragraph really would have helped. But for that failure to communicate, I apologize again.
Even though I thought it was clear in the single paragraph, I apologise for not spacing out the sentences into smaller paragraphs to clarify my tone better (which I usually do, so I don't see why I didn't do it then).

Exactly. Not to say I look down on people who buy them because I don't - we've all been in this position c:

Current Peeve: Overestimating the amount of fabric I need and end up buying way too much.

I have over 2 yards left over after cutting out all of the pieces for Marie's bag. >_< I could have totally used the money to buy this fabric on Saber...

This. Though you could keep the fabric just in case you need it, if not there's always people on line who may be willing to buy it from you c:

I always overbuy my fabric and save the extra. Then I wind up making complete costumes out of the scraps. I made my normal Sarah (from Labyrinth) and my new Fujiko Mine dress completely from stuff out of my scrap bags.

This so much! But to top that for my current pet peeve:

The one creepy guy in cosplay at EVERY CON you go to and always has to strike up a conversation with you even if you made it clear you don't like him since he IS a perv.

Talking about creepy guys...

That ONE GUY that goes to your school, that you kind of know(but not enough to ever talk to or make friends with), and you see him everywhere at the con. I was avoiding this guy from one of my classes because I didn't want him to bring up me cosplaying(it's private for me) at school. So that was fun.

From today:

Spilling fabric paint on part of a cosplay.

Spending time looking up exactly where to bloodstain a shirt sleeve for a character's wound, and then cutting/staining the wrong damn sleeve anyway. Ffffuuuuu.

I am the champion of fabric paint spills. And once the stuff hits, you know there is no getting it out.

My pet peeve: Finding that perfect shot of you...only to realize you're making a derp face.

Con forums being very dead. I want to talk to people about Motaku which is in two weeks. I see a lot more activity on the ACEN forums right now and that's not until May. Granted ACEN is a much larger con but you'd expect more activity on a con that's coming up so soon.
