Cosplay Weight Loss Pen Pal?

Hey all. I was just surfing around here tonight, and an idea popped into my head: Why not find a pen pal who wants to lose weight for cosplay as well? This whole message board is a great support group, but what about something a little more interactive and personalized? I don't really have many people to go to the gym with at home, but as another motivator (you can never have too many!) I was thinking that maybe I could find someone else interested in cosplaying to lose weight along side of. We could write each other every day (or less, if that was too much) and tell each other how our work out was, how we ate that day, what could have been better, what we're proud of, and how our current costuming adventures are coming. There could be sharing or pictures and stories, and maybe even future get togethers. There are so many possibilities.

It might sound a little hokey to some people, but I'd like to hear what you think about this idea. If anyone is interested, just let me know! I'm ready to lose the weight, and I think having a buddy "right there" with me would make things easier and more fun.

Email would be better. Snail mail only if you had some die hard wish to support the USPS. That was things are a little more current. By the time you got one letter, the other person would have probably lost another two or three lbs. xD

XD Not really for me. My weight loss has barely been creeping along. 18 pounds since February. I would lose a few, stabilize for a while, then lose a few more, stabilize, etc. I am losing motivation to get myself back in gear at this point though. );

Weight loss can be lightning fast with some people and slower than what should be humanly tolerable for others. Sadly, it's slow for me too. I've only lost about 5lbs in the past two months, but I can't say I was really trying.

Ha, ha. Yeah, I know what you mean. My friend lost 15 pounds in a month, I'm just like "Guys are supposed to lose weight faster than women, but you just lost that much..." Yeah, makes me feel like I should be working a heck of a lot harder to lose weight. I want to be a muscular kind of skinny, rather than a skinny-skinny person so I may never reach my goal weight. I also have a large frame since I grew up being fat.

I think I have a large frame on a very short body. But who knows? I might be built smaller than I think if I can get the weight off. Motivation is a toughie. I'm good for about 2 weeks, then fall off. Then back on, and off. I have some things to keep me motivated though.

Yeah, we sound very similar. In fact, I even go to Otakon every year since I think, 2008? Yeah, because I graduated from HS that year. Anyhow, I'm currently 228lb, started at 245, and working towards 175. I have asthma so running is impossible for me, and despite that, that is one of the things I want to be able to do once I get skinny.

I think this is just what I need to help stay motivated. The workout buddies I've recruited aren't holding up their end of the deal (which is sad because they made their cosplays a few sizes too small, and I don't know how they expect that to work).

This sounds like a super fun idea, and I'm on board ^.^

Do at least 45 minutes of cardio everyday.
Please I hope to god you aren't just walking.
If it was that easy we would all be skinny.
Don't have to be a hard-core diet just eat
normal food that you damn well know is good.
None of that fast food, snacks, or junk food.
It takes a LONG time to lose even a pound of fat.
You have to burn up to 3500 calories to lose 1 lb of fat.
its already super hard to lose 1 lb a week.
Just try to burn at least 300-500 calories a day,
and you'll have steady progress.
Don't ever do those all yogurt diet or some stupid
gimmick like that. Its obviously a stupid rumor.
If you are still new to working out I suggest doing
and learning more about health and fitness.
www.muscleandstrength.com is a great place to learn.
They already have work out schedules plans from beginners to advanced.
I'm not advertising, but I highly suggest learning more.
That way you know for sure you are on the right track.
Good luck to all of you.

I want to try! It's a bit hard trying to lose weight by your self, for me anyways. Especially when your family keeps bringing junk in the house. ( damn those evil Oreos ) I'm hoping maybe having someone to report back to might keep me on track better.

Don't know if you are still looking, but I am interested.
I am a girl that has had weight problems for a long long time, and staying motivated long enough to actually get results is hard...motivation is what I really need at this point.
Let me know.
