Planning a few more book cosplays this year: More Raffaele and Noah Czerny from The Raven Cycle. May be considering another if I can find enough fake bees.

I'm actually almost done with the bee boy from Ms. Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. I just need more bees.

I debuted Hugh at Baltimore Comic Con this weekend!

It was a lot of fun even if my plush bee sheds like you wouldn't believe

Ah thank you!! It was tedious cutting out all the bees but they turned out really nice, I think!

I have done a few cosplay from books.

My Pippi Longstockings is inspired more from my memory of reading the books as a child rather than from media sources.

And I've done Nephew Fred from a Christmas Carol. Though with this one there have been lots of movies.

I also want to do The Lady of Shallot from the poem of the same name.

SOME day way in the future, the boyfriend and I (and two others to complete the group if possible) would love to design and make the Clockwork angels from the Rush album and its subsequent awesome novelization. But with a more creative spin than the book's description. Fabrics of bronze and gold metallics, wings made of machinery actual working clockwork parts on the chest, etc. instead of being almost identical to marble statues. Excellent part of it too is that since the angels started out as a track on a concept album, masquerade music is a no-brainer!

I super wanna cosplay my favorite characters from The Wheel of Time(Matt, Egwene, Rand, maybe even Aviendha) but their outfits can be so elaborate that I would burn alive, haha!

I also want to cosplay Szeth-son-son-Vallano from the The Way of Kings series by Brandon Sanderson but I'd likely constantly get mistaken for Solas from Dragon Age 3: Inquisitor...

After reading Heartless by Marissa Meyer, I'm sooo tempted to cosplay Cath either as Lady Pinkerton/baker or as the Queen of Hearts.
Maybe even a ballgown inspired by Jest.

I was thinking about this too. When Anne Rice announced her intention to write a tv adptation of her vampire chronicles with her son, I thought it'd be great to see characters that have never been shown on screen before. From that thought, I evolved to "why don't I draw how I imagine them" and to "it would look cool in real life".

I think that as long as you make a personal, original interpretation, it's perfect and you should go for it. After all, that's what professional costume designers do.
