Karn Liberated Cosplay (MTG)

I haven't really ever developed my own costume before, but I wanted to give it a shot for once. I want to try and construct a costume of Karn Liberated from the card game Magic the Gathering. Currently I'm thinking I will need a good deal of plaster or some sort of material to make the stone armor for his body and limbs. Also I am thinking he is quite tall and I would like some ideas on how I could construct some platforms in the legs, possibly. I already know I could use lacrosse gloves for his hands, provided I cut off one finger. I am thinking of making some sort of attachment from my ear to my chin for his lower jaw and using some type of silver face paint to match his face. Also constructing his pauldrons seems like it would be a bit difficult. Again this is my first time attempting cosplay and any help would be amazing! (Also to note: I am cosplaying the normal Karn not the Karn possessed by the Phyrexians.)

Glad to see another MTG enthusiast!

I was looking into making a Karn for someone and had to ponder this question. While I didn't actually implement it, I was going to go down the bodysuit-and-foam plan. I was thinking that heavy-duty EVA foam people use to make iron man and mass effect body armor. The bodysuit underneath would be dyed roughly the same color for the flexing parts between rigid armor sections.

Here is just one link to an instructables page on crafting armor out of EVA foam:

How does that sound?
