300 for Dragon Con
I haven't seen the movie yet and I, like many people here, are probably, dieing to see it. Is anyone or has anyone been interesting in starting a group to make a show in Atlanta this year? Persian, Spartan or otherwise?

I haven't seen it yet either but the photos of Queen Gorgo's dresses have been gorgeous, so I'm considering it! We'll see if I actually like her character in the film, haha.

Wow, thought I was the only this into the movie already.
As far as Queen Gorgo goes check the graphic novel for some good sketches or pause the trailer during her "trance scene". Otherwise we'll just have to wait for the production shots and stills to come out (only two weeks to go). Hopefully some sort of filming/production book will come out soon too. If there's anyone seriously into this I'm all for helping with props and costuming as well as training to look like a Spartan so PM me with questions. "This is madness..." Much like the rest, I'm planning to catch the movie too.
As for costuming, well... as long as there aren't 300 guys marching in the parade wearing an adult diaper and a red bath towel, it should look pretty cool. LoL  Hell, I might even join up after I check out the characters.

So, saw the film and it was great but I gotta say no to any 300 cosplay for me. The Queen's dresses were all just.......eh. I loved her hair but man her dresses sucked. But I'll still be at d*con cheering on the Spartans!

I actually really liked her dress that she wore to address the council. It's 'almost' historically accurate (heh) but still; I really like it! I know a friend of mine plans to make it; I might make it in a different color for SCA events but not for DC.

Well thankfully I've moved on to join in the battle bikini ranks, and I'm MUCH happier about that than I would have been trying to make myself like Gorgo's costumes, or attempt any of the really skimpy Persian girls outfits either. LOL.
I'm much happier getting to run around with the guys and have fun! |

You should check the other 300 thread in Other Costumes forum. There are quite a few girls, myself included, who are making "battle bikini" basically the same uniform as the guys only with tops, obviously. So we're gonna be warriors right there with all the blokes at Dragon Con this year.
