Interesting series. I have often wonder if anyone would be bold enough to cosplay this series, seeing as it involves lots of nakedness and blood. There are also many other cute and simpler outfits.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone knew how to make Lucy's helment from the beginning of the series, the one she is wearing when she escapes the facility. Also, does anyone know where I can get a straight jacket?

Lolz it may involve nakeness but not all the time. The diclonius outfits they have are cute. My friend going as Lucy last version and me as her Nana. Got the horns made by feral which are awesome.

the helmet, hmm you can check out the Wonderflex thread and ask. since i remember someone made a helmet using that materail. its flexible and all. straight jacket not sure. but she is naked when she wears the helmet.

Have you seen a pic of lucy with a white shirt on and having the helmet besides. maybe you can do that then buying a bodysuit to look like your naked. ^^

edit: by the way, there are elfen lied cosplayers so it isnt the boldness, its more of the creativy and daring of going without clothes. which it can;t be done since its prohibited.

Actually, when she is tied down at the beginning she is wearing the straight jacket. That's the only reason I'll just wear that. The helment has to be real metal for me, I'm a freak like that. And a body suit, I though about it, but I'm not confident enough....although, I could probbaly get a real believeble one, but that would be too expensive.

body suits cost around 40$ maybe 50$ not that expensive from the zenta ouftis.
Yeah i know what you mean since i own the set myself. but anyway straight jacket be a pickle to find unless you know were to get it. PLus there a pic like i mention were she has a white shirt and the helmet if you can't seen to find the straigh jacket ^^.

Real metal is prohibited so that can't be made sorry but some of the rules apply that metal cna't be seen in cons.
You can use plastic, add ruff n' buff mettalic color to make it look like metal and rust. thats the only way to go. But plastic is hard to make a helmet, so you got paper mache, Wf or Fiberglass. check in the prob thread for more suggestions.

For a straight jacket, try looking around your area for a pawn shop/army & navy surplus store. I know it's a long shot, but it's better than nothing.

BTW, Elfen Lied is like my 2nd favorite all time series...behind only Eva...such a powerful series basically driven by story...I loved it. I'm currently trying to convince my gf to do the goofy yellow skirt, pink top, green christmas hat outfit...but it leaves me with nothing to wear (as I'm a guy...and the main guy character in that series...is how should I say, a but plain...)

I love the series for it's psychological study of the human mind. It's just so awesome like that! Nothing is also black and white. It's real...well,, as real as you can get with this anyways.

bakura, if you look really close at the very beginning when shes still in the contraption that is keeping her in "prison", she wear something similar to a straight jacket.

I really want to go as Lucy now. Although, if I wear a straight jacket, It's gonna be tied and someone has to walk with me.

yeah it looks like a tree limbs stuck to her skin but more of a straight jacket where she is trap. I wouldnt know where you can find one, and yes you would need to have someone walk you around if you find one.
Actually the author made the anime due of the aspect of how our society works and the real causes of our problems nowadays. plus the phycological effects of people that face. ^^"" i had to really study an anime to actually understand it.

I don't know how close to authentic you want to be, but if you wore this, I seriously doubt you would be able to walk...so obviously compromise would need to be taken...but that's all up to you.

Yup. kurama does look great in a suit and you can make a fake gun and bring it to the con.

The straight jacket is as close as I can get, t'is why, I would walk around naked but that MIGHT cause problems.

I'm going as Lady from Devil may cry and sitting at the table in the dealers room that sells happy shapes. As for the sarcastic part, I was being sarcastic. I might go as Lucy for A-kon though.
